There seems to have been some confusion about our previous statements regarding the New Eden Open so we want to clarify the rules surrounding metagaming and this tournament. We of course, as always, reserve the right to disqualify teams that are trying to squeeze between the letter of any rules and are acting against the spirit of the law.

Our guiding principles are:
1. Do not break any applicable laws, or the EULA or TOS of Eve Online
2. No individual can compete on more than one team
3. Each team must be attempting to win the tournament, and must fight with the intention of winning in each match they play. This means that throwing a match to help an allied team win is against the rules. In a change from Alliance Tournament rules, the New Eden Open will also not allow negotiations to throw a match for any payment, during or before any match.

Practicing together is not against the rules, and because this is not an Alliance tournament we are not concerned with members of the same alliance participating on different teams. Show up and make each match as competitive as possible and you will be following the spirit of the rules.

I feel the need to bump this to keep it on the top of the board. Don't hesitate in signing up a team even though you have a friend or a corp mate competing in the tournament as well. It will just be that much sweeter when you beat him and take the gold!

You can bribe a member of their team to feed you their setup, just not bribe them to throw the match.

rly? and if i bring super-obvious-counter-setup against their setup, that i know of, and stomp them (because their member sold their setup in this match)
ccp will not say something like "this looks metagamed... RELEASE THE KRAKEN!" and ban both teams for not being HONORABLE AT EVE ?

One involves rainbow lasers, the other doesn't.
