Daredevil PVP

I'm looking to fit a PVP Daredevil fit. I'm not interested in rail fits, just t2 neutron blaster fits, scram and web. The one thing I am unsure about is if I should go MWD or AB. I love the speed the MWD can give me to get on stuff or get away, but the fitting would be easier with an AB. I want to use a Vamp/Armor Rep combo but that doesn't seem possible with the PG the MWD leaves me.

Currently I have a MWD/Armor rep fit Daredevil but the EHP (with the DCU II off) is 2,000 +, pretty low considering Assault frigs get much higher.

I'd like to have SOME sort of tank without gimping my speed. Going the resists stacking route doesn't seem all that great considering the crap T1 resists.

Problem? ~.~

Sell it, get something better. Win EVE...

Sorry I know its a pain, I love the idea of the ship I really do. But its a total pain to make it work.

The ship is just too hard to fit unless you start spending zillions on really expensive modules, at which point there are many far better options available.

The problem with the DD is that its strategy is very niche, all it's really good at is solo vs another frigate and even then there's exceptions of stuff it simply can't take on. So while it's "amazing" in one situation it's "total suck" in many others, and for a ship that costs as much as it does it's just not worth it. I'm sure many people will tell you amazing tales (mostly hearsay) about how awesome it is, in reality it's a funky toy, nothing more.

But to answer your question, AB makes the most sense but it's still slow which is ok if you have a cheapo ship to toy with but losing expensive DDs to kite fit T1 frigs is a bit embarrassing. With MWD it's not really that useful when compared to the newly upgraded T1 frigs. The real answer, I guess, is: don't fit it at all.

I've seen a video of this guy using a MWD + Web + MSE + Blaster honour tackle Daredevil, the 90% web is enough to dictate range, he ganked them before they had a chance to realize they weren't pointed.

It was Kil2 - and it only works in 0.0 where people commit to fights and stay til the end. Faction warfare is filled with stabs and people who try to run at every opportunity.

To the OP: You can fly the DD however you want, but saying "No rails" takes the best frigate in the game and turns it into a glorified taranis. An afterburner will get stamped out by any MWD+point+rangeDPS frigate, which btw i fly because so many retards only fit AB's and 7km weapons these days.

The web is used to keep range on a daredevil, not get close. On bigger ships the web is to track. I think you want a megathron in frigate form, which fundamentally wont work.

If you don't want to use rails use Blasters, range rigs and null

There is no point to having 90% webs if you're not going to use them.

I've flown this ship a lot, and this was taken from someone who has flown it a crapload more than me.

For a neutron fit this is the most optimal you are likely to get, of course its a solo fit and wont stand up to blobs but if you can keep range its awesome...

you can change it to an ab fit if you feel the need but i dont feel the need for explaining how to do so, if you reallly need a specific low sec fit where you dont necessarily need to catch peeps then i can maybe help, just pm me with your specific intentions. for most, this is perfect...

the alternatives are plate fits. rail fits or generally gang fits, the last of which i cant help with!

Confirming this fit is probably the best out there, unfortunately it is outshined by an Enyo and Harpy which get similiar DPS but twice the EHP for 1/3 the cost.

Agree. For neutron set, there are better choices like Enyo. Considering the EHP and DPS of other high-end frigs . Neut DD is hard to keep alive and DD is so expensive. Rail DD is the best choice which can make the most use of DD's feature , though CCP's original idea is a close-range monster and tank (See the description of DD,expecting to capture target and face-roll without orbit). In group gank, Neutron DD's maybe better however you can not do full dps because you cannot slow down. Mainly play the role of control

i must be in the wrong part of 0.0 then as very few these days stay for the fight. if things start going south for them most try and run. dualing honour seems to be very few and far between.

incidentally, i am liking the rail fit these days.

The only times I saw stab fitted ships was 1 smartbombing domi and Minmatar plex farmers (which are much rarer now) so I don't know where you get that idea

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.
