Need help fitting a Vargur with T2 purger rigs

How much is the AB actually worth?

That setup has the same damage output and range but with a much stronger tank. The question is does the AB speed up missions enough that its worth potential warpouts cos frankly with next to no cap life i can think of missions that caould be pretty ugly.

This is what I plan on flying very soon as I'm training up the pre-reqs atm.

Certainly looks good on paper and is quite similar to the Maelstrom I've been flying for ages.

EFT omni damage profile shows a 1148 tank and 1000 DPS w/ 61 optimal + falloff using republic fleet ammo. Cap stable till the boost charges run out. All with my skills/implants. Swap a booster for an AB on easy missions.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

AB is only for getting around. Vargur is a bit faster than most BS, but with marauder sig size being what it is, it won't be speed tanking anything. For stationary missions, it's okay to drop ab.

Mach is the only BS sized ship that can effectively speed tank, having both high enough speed and small enough sig. That is, unless you consider something weird, like Panther, which actually works if you have high drone skills.

Getting closer faster increases DPS.

With a falloff of 72km using T1/faction ammo, for every 1km closer to your target you get, you get a ~1% increase in DPS. 10km closer = 10% more DPS.

However, given that the NPCs are normally pseudo-MWD'ing to you, and that it takes about ~30 seconds for an AB'ing Vargur to accelerate to 90% velocity, and that your top speed is a bit over 400m/s, you probably aren't going to see a huge DPS gain.

By comparison, a MWD Mach with a top speed of 1500m/s should get up to 90% velocity in ~20 seconds, at which point it's closing the range very quickly and should see a significant DPS bump.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.
