I was doing OK, until I realized there were multiple versions of the same GPU.

It went straight to hell from there. If any of you could take a look at these 3 variants and chuck your .02 cents in, it would be well appreciated.

The Samsung is what I'm leaning towards, but I'm very concerned about the video card performance versus the GT 555M.

Heh, I can understand that.
What type of Lenovo do you have? At least that way, I can compare it side by side.

I want to say its the Lenovo v550 or something like that
just the i5 processor, like 6g ram, stock video card sucks but this one isn't integrated.

The Samsung is the best of the three, but it also cost the most.

On personal note. A few years ago I bought a new Acer laptop for my parents. It works alright. But. I will never buy another Acer laptop. Given a choice of something refurbished from Asus and new Acer, I would rather buy refurbished.

540M is the weakest of them all.
Still expect it to still run a single EVE instance in near-max graphic detail (no AA) in 1080p at over 30fps in most normal gameplay situations if you set most driver options to balanced performance, and probably over 60fps station-spinning with driver settings for max performance and min image quality.
If you set everything to near-max and drivers to image quality settings, I assume even station-spinning will be turning into almost a slideshow.

630M is only negligibly faster, by at most 10%.
Not really that much of a big deal, if you ask me.

555M is slightly faster still, by about 30%, give or take.
Not extremely impressive though.
In comparison, a 460M would be at least twice as fast compared to the 540M, but almost half as fast compared to a desktop 460.

...

P.S.

All in all, neither of those video cards sounds too attractive, but either of them will do in a pinch.
Especially at the pathetic resolutions those tiny attached screens can display.
Those machines are a bit overpriced for what's being offered there, if you ask me.
I would say something like this would be more appropriate:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152339&name=Laptops-Notebooks
Actual 1080p resolution (not just a meh-worthy 1600x900), only slightly less HDD space (.75 vs 1 TB), a 650M which is almost but not quite as fast as a 460M, a QUAD core CPU with HT (not a puny dual core with HT), and at not that much extra cash (+90$) compared to your very first link.
Alternatively, you could get a slightly cheaper refurbished one like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230352&name=Laptops-Notebooks
...sporting a gorram 2GB 560M, which obviously is better than a 460M, with 8GB of system RAM and again a quad-core CPU, at nearly the same price.

...

P.P.S.

That site you're using is junk as far as search capabilities are concerned, and also as far as selection of goods goes. It can't even be bothered to return the proper results to the filters you select as far as laptop graphics cards are concerned, for instance. And their online reviews are pretty damn poor (for their online business part and the subsequent service), but no idea how reliable that info might be. You might want to consider other companies too. Or maybe go with the physical store version, and accept no upsells.

The company is Canadian. I wonder if the price is in Canadian dollars. I think newegg has Canadian department.

You were a major help!
I think I'm going to go ahead and grab this guy:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=34-152-339&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfo

My only concern is the battery life, but I can't have it all. Is there anything else you would recommend before I wrap this all up?
If not, thanks again!
