EOH Poker the trillion isk scam

EOH Poker site is down as the owner didn't pay the site bill and the trillions of isk in the system has now been donated to the owners.. with the bankers left in the lurch..

Their webserver seems to be experiencing issues loading pages; the domain and server behind it are still fine (responding to ping).

More likely EOH Poker are deploying new code and the transition isn't being smooth.

I run a minor Eve gambling business on an alt, and I can tell you: it's not a scam any more than a Vegas poker game is a scam. Sure, it's rigged so the house always wins, but there is very little profit to grabbing the money and running. It is far more profitable to actually run the business. This is because of the fast turn-over of player invested money.

As an example, I have made about 40-50 billion ISK off of my business. At no time was I holding more than 1-1.2 billion ISK as "credits" or chips for players, and even when I was holding that much, it was only for about half an hour at most. If I were to grab it and run, I would be forfeiting all future profits -- which is not worth it at all.

In other words, while several hundred billion ISK have passed through my hands over the time I've run this business, at no one time would I have been able to have access to all of it to steal it.

Now, take this concept and apply it on a much grander scale to EOH or Somer.blink.

I wondered how long it would take for something like this to appear Big smile

For the curious, there's an explanation (with regular updates) in our in-game channel 'EOH Poker'.

In short, our server host decided to suck after 4 years of pretty good service, so we have a shiny new server at a different host which should be up and running tomorrow. We're dong all we can, and we're really sorry for the downtime.
