Hey!

Soo I was thinking it would be fun to skill towards a carrier main use Ratting.

I can fly mostly everything Caldari have to offer. Atm i fly a Navy Scorpion when i do Blood Raider Sanctums.

I get around 11-14,5mil / tick atm. But i want bigger numbers more like 15-20mil or more each tick.
What ship do i need to make this happen?
I have caldari BS 5 missile skills only (and pritty good droneskills).

First i was thinking a Golem but the range is just bad when fighting Raiders.. Then i said hey carriers sounds like fun. But mby a bad idea now that winter is coming. Or is the nerf not happening (heard different stories)
The comming changes to fighters will make em useless when ratting or?

Some ppl say that a NIghtmare is great vs Raiders. What would be more effective in the sanctums Carrier -Sentrydrones/fighters or a NIghtmare or something else?

What should i do ^^..

Paladin/Loki. Or archons are always good. Nightmare would be fine too.

Thanny is best, due to dmg bonus. One smartbomb and full rack of drone control units. Armor tank also frees up mids for extra omnis and tps, which are necessary for fighters to hit well. Armor also tanks EM well, not that it's an issue for carriers. If you're lazy/impatient, Caldari carrier rats as well as other 2 races. There's no point training extra for Archon, it has no advantages whatsoever for pve. It's preference in pvp as triage carrier is good for the blob but bad for you. Most people are sorry to have ever trained it, as they're pressured into flying triage every time. Ignore the random Paladin/Loki suggestion, especially Loki.

What about the nerfs to Fighters this winter?

Will fighters be able to hit stuff that is smaller than a carrier well?

What I'm hearing is that that nerf won't be hitting TQ due to massive dissatisfaction. Carriers should be pretty much untouched by the super cap rebalancing this winter.

And if you have Cal BS 5 but not other races, ignore the people telling you to train another race (unless you decide it's worth it to you). Any carrier should be able to handle Sanctums fine, some might be a bit better at it, but how long does it take for the 20% damage bonus from the Thanny (assuming you stop at Carrier 4) take to pay off the extra month of training Gal BS 5?

25% extra dps is nothing to scoff at, given the base dps - 1500->1875. Yes, the Thanny is worth considering, other 2 races aren't. There's also armor tank, cap, and free mids I mentioned before. You will be making use of those mids, while not so much for lows of Chimera.

BS 5 is around 20 days with mapping and implants. It's a small part of the whole considering advanced starships, carrier, fighter skills that need to be trained anyway, and will earn you more isk forever.

As for nerf, it should be only fighter bomber and moms.

Ok thx for all the good advice !

Thanatos would take some extra time with New BS 5 and RepairSystems but the dps boost is rly nice!

Also, you'll be able to pay for an overpriced isotope in order to fuel your carrier everytime you jump, enjoy Cool

But, the Thanatos is indeed a really nice and efficient spaceship.

It already went back down. Goons are failing. Work harder.Cool

And jump fuel price being a factor for individual ratter is pretty laughable. It won't make a difference on your bottom line.

I'm sorry, I believe you misunderstood me. I agree that the 5-25% DPS boost is significant, I wasn't trying to dismiss it. I was merely attempting to keep the skills trained in mind. Thanny might be the best PvE carrier, but sometimes it's more effective to use ships you're already skilled for, even if they're slightly sub-optimal, than it is to train something else.

Time spent training for a Thanny has an opportunity cost, namely whatever other skills could be trained and the amount of ISK more that a Chimera could make versus his current ship. If the OP is going to use the Thanny for a long period, it's worth training for it, if it is only going to be used for a few months before going and doing some other activity, it's probably more efficient to use a Chimera. I wasn't trying to say either path was the best one, simply pointing out that both are perfectly viable, depending on the OP's priorities.

Hopefully I explained myself a bit more clearly this time.

How much ISK do one make in a Carrier Solo when doing sanctums I mean each tick, 20min.

20mil more ? Less ?

Ill say again, paladin loki.... loki has best possible passive armor tank, when nueted by blood raiders is quite helpful. Paladin is max dmg against them (shield tankers, em/therm) and best resists, armor for em/therm... so free high slots in your paladin can fit remote armor reps to rep your loki if you need to, easily run 10/10s with 2 accts. Good luck doing it in your thanny...

Should be 30-40 mil, assuming Thanny, good fit, and good skills. Good skills would be lvl4-5, good fit would be full rack of drone control units with at most one smartbomb, mids filled with omnis + tps, and a bay of fighters. There are lower numbers floating around, but it's from people using triage fits or heavy/sentry drones

Btw, ignore the fail Paladin + Loki guy that +1s himself with alts. If you have an alt for sanctums, get another carrier.

Confirming carriers are ace for 10/10s in blood raider space, good luck with your endeavor.
