Do you guys mount a target painter to melt the frigates faster?

Even with the Scourge Precision missles the frigates take 3-4 volleys to go down.

That really ******* annoys me when they scram you and you cant warp yourself out.

Let me just give some really solid advice when flying a tengu in a mission.

1) You have to have the skills to backup your tengu
2) Your tengu has to be built CORRECTLY in order to not die to scrambling/webbing frigates
3) PLEASE READ UP ON THE MISSION BEFORE HAND SO YOU KNOW WHICH SHIPS DO WHAT IN THE MISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 is by far the most important. There is so much information on each mission that you should be ASHAMED if you lose your ship. Please read up on the missions before hand so you know what to do. A general rule of them for me since i'm ******* lazy. Take out all webbing/scram frigates first, kill the rest.

The above fit is PERFECT. You can two/3 volley any frigate, and has more than enough tank. If you're worried about cap stability you are simply doing it wrong. PERIOD

This is a fit I've moved onto when I heard about the upcoming changes to HML:

The hardeners are interchangeable of course, and once again, this is not cap stable and uses a **** TON of ammo, but with OH I get over 1000 dps from a cruiser.

Good luck

1) Try fitting rigors. They really do help a lot.

2) Train GMP. All the way to 5. It's a long pita skill but it makes a huge difference.

3) Yes, painters help too.

Do yourself a favor.. don't fit cookie cutter fits that rely on speed to survive. I have 6 launchers 4 x NBCS, 1 rigor and sadly 2 medium CCC so I don't have to worry about the frigs.. I generally leave them till last. I do have an AB which runs permanently and am cap stable with a medium booster which gets me about 600 omni tank.. never had any problems even when webbed to standstill..

Guided Missile Precision
Quote:
Skill at precision missile homing. Proficiency at this skill increases the accuracy of a fired missile's exact point of impact, resulting in greater damage to small targets. 5% decreased factor of signature radius for light, heavy and cruise missile explosions per level of skill.

I would suggest Target Navigation Prediction to 5 as well.

Quote:
Proficiency at optimizing a missile's flight path to negate the effects of a target's speed upon the explosion's impact. 10% decrease per level in factor of target's velocity for all missiles.

Don't overlook implants either, specifically the one for slot 8, Zainou 'Deadeye' Guided Missile Precision GP-80x series and the slot 9 Zainou 'Deadeye' Target Navigation Prediction TN-90x series.

assuming youre talking about missions, you should have 2 TPs and rigor rigs.

Not missions, complexes. I want to do as high a DED rating as possible solo. From what ive read, 8/10 seems to be the consensus of what everyone says can be solo'd

Why would any mission HML Tengu need 2 TP's fitted? Or even one, for that matter.

With decent skills and Rigors installed, most t1 frigs will melt on the first volley.

Depends on the faction your shooting.

The Serpentis 8/10 can only be solo'd with a deadspace booster fit tengu OR with logisitcs support due to mass amount of webs and scrams you will receive.. Where as the Serpentis 10/10 can be solo'd easily.

On the other hand the Gurista 8/10 can be solo'd easily with one T2 medium booster fit tengu where as the 10/10 you require logistics or a mega investment in expensive mods for the tengu.

I just completed the Serp 8/10 with a remote repping tengu, but it took ages due to the structure having massive armor rep. That was once I had dealt with the scrams and web frigs.

All I am saying is research your complexs. Most frigates in DED sites can be killed easily with FURYS and the elite frigs with precision.

Also most plexes (like the above serp 8/10 Blink) have tank break tricks to stop the boss repping. Serp 8/10 is easily solo'd in a nighthawk never mind a tengu.

I agree. The cheat websites are there for a reason.

And no, I don't care if you don't think they're cheats. Deal with it.

Doesn't work on the 8/10 Serp plex. Tried it once again earlier. Shooting from 80km and it rep'd up.
