A Titan represents a lot of RL money. If you take the cost of a PLEX as the exchange rate (~$20 US RL, ~580M ISK in-game), a Titan costs about $2,200 US. I can think of lots of things I'd rather do with two grand than flush it down the toilet like this.

I seriously doubt you'll find a whole lot of people who paid for their titans with PLEX.

Well, if you're one of those who gets scammed out of a Nyx, loses another one while ratting and then loses a mining titan, well, there's really no other explanation besides RMTing or buying PLEX.
