He's not a bot. He actually multiboxes like 26 accounts at once. No joke. He has some youtube clips and a blog somewhere where he has photos and a full description of his setup.

Still, there's probably at least 2,000-3,000 bots mining just ice logged in at all times. There's a reason why the server count rises very quickly right after downtime, despite being during EU work/US sleep hours.

At least a quarter of the players online at any given time are bots.

Not to be a contrarian, but that isn't a valid argument. Please, just go kill miners and leave the thinking to the contract pvpers.

Looks like I have a fan. Adorable. Which war are you from?

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

So his crime is'nt botting, it's multiboxing 20+ accounts mining high sec ice. In that case the crime is his punishment. It's hard to imagine doing anything worse to him that he's already doing to himself.

you seriously arguing someone is sitting at multiple PCs running 26 accounts and entering all commands manually without any multiboxing software or plugins or macro bots?
look, i know you can multibox a few accounts, I do it myself with 4-5 fairly often, but even given the mindnumbing boredom and ease of ice mining, i call bullshit on that one.

A "bot" and a "macro" are two different things. The fact that you called it a "macro bot" demonstrates that you have no idea what you are talking about. (hint: macros aren't against the ELUA, bots are)

mining macros are also against it.
the difference between a macro and a bot is semantics at best. a bot it basically just a complicated macro.

You're saying it IS a valid argument? Or trying to distract everyone from the invalid argument?

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Shame your bosses have decided to turn eve online into a grind with regluar gratification and almost zero chance of upset for players. Part of this process involved giving insane amounts of hp to mining ships.

Don't worry another game will come along and fill the intelectual mmo bracket as eve slips further into wow terriotry.

The WIS uses command clone software to work all the clients at once.
Basically the digital version of chopsticks and hotglue.
He is also a nice guy though he has a certain untouchability.
You can war dec him and kill him if you are fast(been there tried unknowingly, he jumped to npc corp) but then you will be known as the guy who killed a 26 multiboxing ice miner who was told to suicide.

Besides let the goons do it.

People from those timezones make up a relatively small percentage of the EVE population. The server count jumps to 20,000 within an hour, and ends at the same amount at downtime. Not all of those people are from the Pacific timezones, and while a bunch of Euros and Americans sign in right after downtime, the numbers still don't add up.

If you follow bots and botters to some degree, you know that most of them don't try to make their bots emulate realistic behavior. They simply set them up to maximize profit. You might feel inclined to disagree with me here based on how terrible the implications of what I say are, and I sympathize with you, but the fact of the matter is that a huge portion of all online characters at any given time consists of bots. In fact, the numbers I gave above might be a conservative estimate. That's how bad it is.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:
