DUST was portrayed as a one way street (i.e. EvE could have an impact on Dust but not the other way around).

If Dust as a purely one type of console game ever actually CAN have an impact on a PC based based game then surely there are at the very least, issues with ethics (but then it is CCP) but I would have thought there would actually be a legal case for all subscribed players to obtain refunds from CCP because they are essentially being forced to buy a console they may not want or play a game that isn't the one they invested their time and money playing.
Basically blackmail.

BTW just leave the damn bra-straps on and turn the game back on please.

Aight Aight, want patches and downtime to be exact?

Let's all start paying 25 euro / 32 $ per expansion eh?

Or, ccp could stop providing new content altogether and just fix the current bugs, hmm?

Point is:

Stuff be free, don't complain!

All these people whining...... As someone stated earlier, when a patch is released for something like World of Warcraft they go offline for hours, even for a minor patch. The game will be up when it's up. Until then, go play something else, like Call of Duty, Battlefield 3, League of Legends, Shogun 2. Hell, Worms Revolution was released the other day. Whatever floats your boat.

While we wait for the deployment to be completed, I'd like to point out my PC is beginning to collect dust.

im fed up with seeing

'The odds are that you have not established an internet connection'

My internet connection hasn't dropped in years.

The odds are that you have overstated your capablilities.

No change there then!

sony has not made a profit in years
if they dont fix it they wont last many more years

Hence the investment into a prime 1st person shooter (currently the most profitable genre on the market) that they can get exclusively on their network and give away for free. I haven't figured out how they will profit yet, but if EVE/CCP's history says anything I'm sure some sort of plex for isk (feeding twitchies never ending hunger for more guns) will be involved.

BTW... companies as big as sony can hemorage money for years. Case in point Blackberry aint dead yet Blink

How can one quit less?
QQ less? Makes no sense.

QQ is a meme, based on the fact that the letter Q looks a little like a tear falling from an eye.
it means 'cry' or 'crying' ... dependant on the situation.

hence the term.. "Less QQ, More PewPew"
i mean 'less quit more shoot' doesn't sound right does it

Wouldnt worry about it, the game will be dead in 6 weeks and abandoned in 3 months.

That is your personal opinion, which yes you are entitled to...

but please stop stating it as fact. you're probably wrong.

I remember the same thing being said about counterstrike, day of defeat and many other games during their beta.

There is a huge difference between DUST and these games, and it is a factor that will likely keep people comming back.
Persistance.

The world is not just a series of battles that have no effect other than to modify your personal Kill/Death ratio.
You'd be surprised how many people will forgive problematic gameplay simply because their actions can have a lasting effect on the game world.

While I am sure there are a several thousand players who will...there are millions who won't. There is no excuse to release a game that includes problematic gameplay while still in beta, look at SWTOR...arguably the biggest IP you can tap into...loses half of it's players in the first 6 months because of problematic gameplay. Fix the game, or don't release it.

Reading comprehension failure.

Lasting Effect On The Game World.

Hell... Warhammer online... people still play that simply to get their statue up in the capital city for a week... and the pvp (main selling point) in that is buggy as hell.
Counterstrike, you could shoot people through walls for years because their shadows passed through the things... no persistant effects on the game world, but it's still going strong.

the FPS genre is full of bugs and exploits that people use in multiplayer, but people still play them. Even when they have to pay for subscriptions to X-box live or the like.

DUST is free. utterly free... (unless you want AUR) ... that alone will bring in a lot of players. even if it's just as a game to play when they are broke at the end of the pay-month

they will play DUST because there broke? ..hmm broke and still own a PS3 nice!

I like how the longer the extension is, the more panicky they become. It's like they have a quota of playing time they have to meet.

Oh wait, I think I just figured out a way to detect bots!

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

TL;DR What we all should be interested in and should be considered 'high priority' is game balance. Sandbox, PvP, EVE's economy as a whole, isk sinks, etc. The rest is just 'optional gameplay'.

- DUST is PVP in another genre.
- DUST is becoming apart of the 'sandbox'

As has been said before, alliances who don't play DUST will have a disadvantage over an alliance paying MERCS to fight on planets over sov, while they fight in space. I wonder how much change in the sov map there will be.

Ohhhhh, ok. of course mate. But can you tell me why the **** they specify a time and can never follow their own offline limit?
