That is your personal opinion, which yes you are entitled to...

but please stop stating it as fact. you're probably wrong.

I remember the same thing being said about counterstrike, day of defeat and many other games during their beta.

There is a huge difference between DUST and these games, and it is a factor that will likely keep people comming back.
Persistance.

The world is not just a series of battles that have no effect other than to modify your personal Kill/Death ratio.
You'd be surprised how many people will forgive problematic gameplay simply because their actions can have a lasting effect on the game world.

While I am sure there are a several thousand players who will...there are millions who won't. There is no excuse to release a game that includes problematic gameplay while still in beta, look at SWTOR...arguably the biggest IP you can tap into...loses half of it's players in the first 6 months because of problematic gameplay. Fix the game, or don't release it.

DUST will take priority, leaving eve's ever dwindling fan base pissed off as usual, but as per usual we wont do anything, and continue to hand over our monies.

Since Dust is becoming a part of eve and vice versa, DUST is a pretty high priority for eve players as well.
Don't advocate your subjective opinion as that off the entire groups.

Technicly, both yes and no.

Yes, Dust is becoming a part of the EVE universe (and the other way), but no it's not a high priority for EVE players. Some players will not be involved with Dust whatsoever, and have zero interest in it. Me, for example. I live and move between all secs, but I have zero interaction in space holding. No FW, no POS, no nullsec space ownage etc. For me, Dust means absolutely nothing, and the markets involving Dust have nothing to do with me either. If Dust affect prices on the market, then you could argue "but so do PI, moon ownership" etc - other stuff I am not personally involved in and don't give a hoot about.

So you're wrong that it should be a "high priority" for EVE players. But you're right it does have something to do with EVE. I'd say in light of that, you were also exampling a subjective opinion.

TL;DR What we all should be interested in and should be considered 'high priority' is game balance. Sandbox, PvP, EVE's economy as a whole, isk sinks, etc. The rest is just 'optional gameplay'.

As much as I cant stand it (personnal opinion) i think it would be in everyones best interest if dust succeeds.

Reason: Sony has dumped a lot of money in CCP, who is now so engrained in dust (and eve integration) that if it fails it will most likely reverberate throughout the company and eve will suffer too.

Just a random though though.

SONY gave CCP money? i thought it was the other way around

They both are highly invested in it.

how can SONY be invested in it they are broke
they are on the edge of going under as it is

Sony isnt broke. At any rate... there was significant talk about sony investing in ccp last year. Rumors about a buyout (just rumors) but at the least major stock purchases, which would then go to fund other initiatives (like dust).

13:55 now the status read as "unknown". What happened? I suppose a bunch of EvE dev are now panicking in Iceland since their game probably freeze up and refused to start.. all because of they want to fix jiggling b00bies...

yeah this unexpected delay might be due to a tiny bit of bra-strap still showing...

So.. time to quit trying.

Well... DUH!!

DUST is free to download.
DUST has no subscription
DUST will apparently retain the above 2 points after release

So.. yeah... you don't pay for DUST.

That said. your EULA and TOS for EvE do clearly state that downtimes might be extended...
and seriously. you're complaining that it's been extended to a whole 4 hours? (actually a little less)
most other games have 8-12 hour downtimes for 0.1 increment patches and even longer for 1.0 increment ones.

qq less.
do something else.
maybe go outside or something.

This is why i always set a long skill queue in patch days...

Just be patiente people...

New patches/content always have "hicups" along the way... so all we need to do is have patiente... very Soon(®) we'll be playing the game we all love!

My refexes are to old to compete with those guys :)

DUST was to be on Xbox as well but the level of control Microsoft required to allow the interaction was unacceptable, i.e. they wanted complete control/access to all of the EVE info as well as DUST.

As an Xbox owner its a little disappointing as I'd like to have given DUST a go but like others I'm not going to buy a PS3 specifically to do so. That said I'm not past borrowing a friends...

I was close to going to get a ps3 But like you say i have xbox and dont have the room or time to kill on tv then run across room to provide bombings......wife will go into one Smile

EVE have about 15-20 minutes of downtime every day. That accumulates to a lot compared to other games. If other games have 8 hours downtime twice a year, it's still little compared to EVE.

Microsoft just being Microsoft, there no reason for them (ATM) to promote other products unless guarantee making money for them. IF dust successful, i bet they will open some leniency toward ccp.

Reading comprehension failure.

Lasting Effect On The Game World.

Hell... Warhammer online... people still play that simply to get their statue up in the capital city for a week... and the pvp (main selling point) in that is buggy as hell.
Counterstrike, you could shoot people through walls for years because their shadows passed through the things... no persistant effects on the game world, but it's still going strong.

the FPS genre is full of bugs and exploits that people use in multiplayer, but people still play them. Even when they have to pay for subscriptions to X-box live or the like.

DUST is free. utterly free... (unless you want AUR) ... that alone will bring in a lot of players. even if it's just as a game to play when they are broke at the end of the pay-month
