The infantry is coming. We all know that when DUST 514 is released, the grunts will have some impact on how we spacelords conduct our business. But how will they go about communicating with us? CCP karkur has written a dev blog detailing exactly that; how dusties and capsies will be besties in the same chat rooms.

Read it all here.

As always we want to hear your constructive thoughts and comments in this thread, so post away.

Although this is part of the Eve-Dust intergration its nice you thought of eve players and updated our channels a bit, nice to see we can highlight our own text :)

Is there any plans to remove local being on immediate mode in nullsec or possibly allow us to 'disable local broadcasting' or something so we dont show up in local if we dont want too?

I like it, however some suggestions:

- Make the highlight of dust players in the player list a bit less standing out (I'd even make their messages grey rather than colorful as the should be less important for the generic Eve player in most channels).
- Make it possible to highlight or change colors of players in the list (and their chat messages?) based on standings, affiliation, etc. (similar to how brackets and the overview work). However allow us to use decent colors, so no rainbow chat except for CCP/ISD/BH/GM/etc.
- Apply that non-unicolor highlighting to all highlights (e.g. overview, but make it optional).
- Change the displayed memberlist number: Immediate mode "Local [55]" / Delayed mode "Big Channel [~132]" Note the added "~" as an easy indicator to see the number is estimated. I'm not 100% sure whether using something else might be more appropriate though (like "Big Channel [>132]").

Does the channel list still only update if there are more than 2? It was noted during testing, but never responded to.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Looks good, less clutter is always nice.

One question: If I turn off dust bunnies chat in local, will the channel counter still show how many there are in system?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Yes, you always see the number of 'Bunnies' even though you hide them from the Member list and/or take their coloring from the chat messages.

You can however not hide the chat messages themselves from the chat channel.

(omg i'm roleplaying hard right now)

Assuming i am an elitist prick who only accepts the existence of these people,
because i can spread their body parts all over the place ...

... will i be able to turn off any comments of them ? Completely ?

Why would I, as a capsuleer, be forced to read the words of uneducated masses
only good for providing dung, in the form of blood and flesh, to the local environment ?

Thank you for your response.
