Widow for lvl4 missions?

Is the widow a good ship for running lvl4s? from the limited amount of info I have been able to find the dps is pretty good, but not sure on the tank.

I can fly a golem, but I'm not sure if the dps is comparable (and have a skilled alt for salvaging, anyway).

with the coming nerf to heavy missiles my nighthawk will become pretty much useless for lvl4s (the dps is already low - not happy CCP), so I need an effective solution.

Black Ops BSes are terrible for level 4s.

Golems 100% Dmg Bonus on 4 Launchers gives you more DPS then the Widow with 5 Launchers and a 25% RoF Bonus. Raven and SNI can tank Lvl 4's enough, have the 25% RoF Bonus and 6th Launcher, the CNR has the same bonus and a 7th Launcher.

Widow is really the worst of the group for Lvl 4's.

^^^QFT....and why does no one ever seem to mention what space they run missions in these threads? How does one not realie how relevant that is with even a minimal amount of research?

It will be either HiSec or Null. You'd have to be pretty stupid to Lvl 4 in Low Cry

you also have to be pretty stupid not to mention what faction's space you are missioning in....high, low, or null is much less relevant...

Have done one I believe it was Gurista. It's slow going, but probably no slower than your first year or so in a T1 BS for most people. Probably no slower than using a Hyperion with T2 fittings. The Widow looks cool, but with the skills required to fly there are better options.


On a side note I have one fitted and ready in a level 4 system. Might be fun if you get a small gang of them for some short term giggles.

I've seen Widows used for 0.0 ratting using it''s jump abbilaties to by pass well known gate camps/ bottlenecks.

though you need alts.

and as mentioned before there are better options, not that, that should stop you if you can aford to loose it.

better get some Steath Bomber friends and terrorise low and 0.0
