ECM: Reevaluated - A Look into the Future of EVE

After some previous threads regarding the current state of possible imbalance in the field of Ewar drones, we have put some further thought into the ECCM and ECM dilemma and we have reached the verdict that they are played out and nobody likes them anymore. Having put considerable effort into investigating the nature of the concerns that have been most frequently raised, we have noticed some interesting trends, namely: lots of people think ECM sucks balls.

ECM is a frustrating mechanic, and while it has an important role to play, in a game of calculated outcomes and careful planning a module that relies on chance seems out of place. We believe we have jointly invented a much better solution that will fill approximately the same role, and satisfy the desires of current ECM pilots to remain relevant in modern combat.

Solution:
Erectile enhancers / deflaters (EE / ED)

What they do:
By increasing your own, or by reducing your opponents erectile potential you can greatly increase your own effectiveness and potency in a fight or, by contrast, negatively affect that of your opponent, comprehensively impacting the outcome of the fight and acting as a very literal ‘force multiplier.’

Names for Enhancers:
T1: Erectile Turgidity Enhancer I
Meta 1: Alumel Wired Todger Protraction Array I
Meta 2: Incremental Ratcheting Codpiece Expander I
Meta 3: V7-Y ‘Bagpipe’ Girth Dilator I
Meta 4: ‘Centrifuge’ Member Escalation Field I
T2: Erectile Turgidity Enhancer II

Names for Deflaters:
T1: Boner Flaccidity Projector I
Meta 1: Dwindling Dongle Reduction Field I
Meta 2: Ramrod Deflation Broadcaster I
Meta 3: U-15 ‘Icewater’ I Torpedo Declension
Meta 4: Phased Muon Morning De-glorifier I
T2: Boner Flaccidity Projector II
Storyline: 'Goatse' Johnson Debilitator I

[ Possible icon ]

Names for Projected Assist Modules:
T1: Assistive Rigidity Solidifier I
Meta 1: Linear Distension Assistance I
Meta 2: ‘Telekinesis’ Billowing Proliferator I
Meta 3: Sweeping Intensification Adjuster I
Meta 4: ‘Inception’ Reinforcement Injection I
T2: Assistive Rigidity Solidifier II

In conclusion, we hope the marvelous developers and game balance engineers at CCP read this and put some real consideration into our carefully crafted proposal. We strongly believe that this will obviously foster a much more enveloping and immersive environment. Plus there are boners, lol.

this draft proposal was assembled in like an hour and a half by chrismyazz and iam widdershins. see what you can do when you put your mind to it?

I would be the first to support an ECM overhaul. Especially a consideration to introduce stacking penalties of several ECM modules on a single target – rendering it practically combat ineffective.

BUT I dont even understand what you are proposing.

Tracking disruptors and tracking enhancers, sensor damps and sensor boosters etc all fall under this description. This idea is vague at best.

"umm, i want a model that makes u fight worse, mmkay?"

Edit: my point. Spend less time of coming up with nifty names for the different meta modules and spend more time explaining what they do to begin with.

My only concern is the potential to run these modules for longer than 4 hours. Would that then start to cause heat damage to the module?

Am I the only one who expected the remote assistance module's icon to be a hand? lol
