Remember this little bombshell from the CSM minutes and all the rage and tears it created?

The Drake: The CSM and CCP both acknowledged the need to rebalance the Drake, which ‘does everything too well’. CCP is considering giving it a more offensive role like a Raven or Caracal where it would lose the shield resistance bonus and the 5% Kinetic damage bonus and instead gain a rate of fire bonus and a missile velocity bonus. The CSM vehemently approved of this idea. CCP and the CSM also agreed that this possible change to the Drake would help add more uniqueness to the Nighthawk, which is presently overshadowed entirely by the Drake.


Seeing as the Raven and the "new" Caracal both have 5% RoF and 10% missile velocity bonuses, I'm guessing the Drake will get the same to help offset the HML reductions, especially if the BC skill is maxed. The changes will also likely give people, particularly Tengu pilots who have cruiser V already, a reason to want to max the BC skill which will help set up training into the Nighthawk. Something CCP seems keen on doing from various comments they've made.

Start bracing yourselves now people for the tears and rage that will be unleashed when the Tengu changes are announced.

While at the CCP Austin gathering/Dev meet on last Thursday. We got to meet CCP_Fozzie and talked him into making a little video of Fozzie Nerf Batting the Tengu.

We picked the 100MN Tengu for that nights mission, because the Drake was in the shop getting the AC recharged. What?

Fozzie was kind enough to play along while explaining that the incoming Nerfs will normalize many of the weapon systems issues and said that heavy missiles will still be useful and viable after patch. (just not from 110km, im guessing)

Nerfs incoming, how bad will they be? We shall see.... From the look of glee on Fozzie's face, he must fly something else.Big smile
