Second Mission Runner

I fly a dual repping perma run Abaddon right now and I love the thing to death. Burns through everything...everything that is until I get a guristas mission. Anything else I kill in seconds but these ***** out tank my damage. I realize it is because I can only throw out EM/Therm from my guns so that is why I want to invest into another turreted mission running ship. Was thinking Hyperion but didn't know how it stood as a mission runner. Any ideas as to what I should fly?

I do not want to fly a raven or any varient of a raven.

Drone sentry boats are very low maintenance. Just launch drones, order them to assist your main char, then circle drones and/or turn on reps. Instant 500-700 dps on whatever you aim at with your main.

If you want the alt to heal you, use a domi to remote rep. Otherwise, the Ishtar works will on pure damage and can sig tank with very little involvement other than occasionally switching over to turn on a rep for a cycle or two.

Your asking for a second ship on your main, not a ship for an alt, right?

In that case, a Gallente ship isn't a bad idea. Dominix is the best of them but requires good drone skills (obviously). Barring that, the Megathron is normally considered the better option but a Hyperion can hold its own. NMega isn't too expensive and might be worth considering.

sounds like you want a nightmare.

it uses lasers and it should be able to tank everything you will encounter.

I started as caldari only, then went amarr and started using a NM, awesome ship, but only in amarr space so once again cross trained to minmatar..... What you after is a mach, even with meta 4 guns it does really well for all damage type. I switch between NM and mach depending on damage types, so EM/Thermal weak rats NM all else mach. I haven't used my tengu or navy raven in a long long long time...

Mach always works.

(Navy) Domi* is a damn good mission boat. Hyperion and (Navy) Mega work, I suppose, but training up hybrids to do missions in one of those... eh.

*Yes, that's a turret ship!

I would get an alt in a (Navy) Dominix, twin-perma rep it, and drop sentry/heavy drones that just assist your main. It can also have tracking links and remote reps to further boost the main.

Hmmm a mach would be nice. Think I'll pick one up and then a NM sometime after. Thanks.

Typhoon can dook it both Drone support, and heavy hitting power with torps/autocannons, they are by far the most versatile ships iv piloted to date.

Perhaps you should consider a Navy phoon while you skill into something costly and nimble like a Machariel.

Nightmare. Nightmare. Nightmare.

The only guristas mission i have is assault. Not very hard, but i skip it most of the time. Even against angel (angel extravangaza), the nightmare is doing an awesome job.

A good drone boat - one which can carry full sentry flights as well as lighter drones, such as the Domi, the Ishtar, or the Gila - will work very nicely if you can get up the proper skills. That means a long time training in drone support skills, as well as beefing up Gallente Battleship (or Gallente Cruiser to buff the Gila's drone damage or hit the prerequisites for the Ishtar).

Lots of people suggest the Machariel just because it has wonderful speed, massive falloff range, and can throw any type of damage you need, but it's also a billion-ISK-plus hull. If you're looking to go that route ... well, the Tier 2 and 3 Minmatar battleships are right along the skill path you'd need in the meantime. The Tempest gets double gank bonuses (damage bonus, rate of fire bonus) to its turrets, while the Maelstrom gets a defensive bonus that lets it tank like a pro (plus 8 turrets to the Tempest's 6).

And 1400's shooting Phased Plasma will curb-stomp the Guristas.

Or just don't do Guristas. Seriously don't do them....
