Republic University still going strong

It is true that I only own one character. So obviously this must be a blatant lie.

IMO while most people in gaming ( and in life ) say they would like large doses of predictability , the truth is it will lead inevitably to boredom and apathy.

What most gamers 'secretly' crave is unpredictability , this is what keeps people coming back to watch your fav TV series, etc.

Challange , adaptability and creativity, accomplishment is the circle of life and where the juice is found.

I would adapt, or I would move on.

Yep, you would move on. To a different game. The same way we will when CCP screws this dog to the point where it will never walk again.

Don't underestimate my capacity for adaptation... Smile

Im just coming back after a 4 year break. Can anyone post a link to these "terrible" changes? Sounds just like it was when I started playing in 2005.

Predictable unpredictability is the real goal.
Gamers hate it when 'Unpredictable' means 'Today it might be totally safe, tomorrow the largest best tank ship dies in this asteroid belt'

Predictable unpredictability is 'If I let a rat get away from me, they might warp back in with a small BS gang, and sometimes they will use Ewar & tackle as well as spider tanking, so I have to make sure to kill the scouts, even if they are out of my normal range and not attacking me'
Where those 'scouts' sometimes have a cruiser or BC with them also to make them hard targets.

The later gives a logical cause & effect relationship, lets player actions have influence and makes their choices matter, without it being entirely controllable.

Posting in another "EvE is dying" thread. (It isn't btw, long live EvE!)

Crimewatch changes = awesome.
Highsec gankers losing their easy-mode = Priceless.

Time to go to low and null, where real PvP is supposed to happen.
Just be careful, those guys tend to shoot back! I know, i know, it's going to take some adjustment from your normal easy-mode, but i'm sure you'll manage to adapt.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

You have been dying since birth so why are you crying over a game again?

Due to the large amount of griefing compared to other games, Eve already has a reputation of being a game that is not for new people.

This would make it so when older players leave ( due to whatever reason) compared to the new players coming in ratio would either be very low or negative.

I don't think having a system where older players drive away newer players is a good model either.

EVE is the only game on the market where, as the player base goes down, the number of subscriptions actually rises.

And boom goes the dynamite.

Is EVE the only game that is dyeing when it sustains slow continual growth for over 10 years?
