First of all, the OP has a right to voice his opinion and viewpoints of the game and to question any aspect of it.

Secondly, those who say it's RNG, game working as intended, no nerfs done, etc. bla bla bla, are just posting a standard reply due to not knowing or having any statistics to back them up. They can't show any proof or state where they get their facts because none of them work for CCP. They also don't have any access to any game stats concerning game mechanics, drop rates, nerfs/boosts, etc.


It's sad that whenever a player posts a thread questioning exploration, drops, etc, all of a sudden it get's filled with all kinds of troll posting done by alts trying to make it seem like their word is fact.

First off, if it's taking you 30-60mins to scan down a site 100%, your doing something really wrong. I'm new to exploration and even i can scan a system with 6+ sigs down in under 30mins total, not good by any standard, but i am new at this with pretty poor scanning skills.

Secondly, your answer lies in the very fact these sites a random based.

Using my experiences as an example, i only scan high sec right now, so the best i can find is a 4/10 scout outpost, these can be compared to rocking horse **** in rarity as everyone and their mother is looking for these sites in high. Now, my first week of exploring i managed to find one of these, i switched from my scanny helios into my myrm and ran the site, luckily ( i realize now ) i managed to grab a pithi C-type medium shield booster worth upwards of 350m. This alone got me hooked on exploration.

Now, the following 10 days after that first 4/10 i spent over 4/5hrs each day ( i work full time and have to play around a wife and kids ) scanning and found (in my honest opinion) every frigging wormhole in existence within the EVE universe, along with bucket loads of mag/grav/ladar. I do run radars as it still brought in a relitively decent income, but still couldnt find another 4/10, it got to the point of seriously face desking.
The following day my luck changed, i found the scout outpost, ran it, got another shield booster, score!

To run salt into your obviosly raw wounds, i jumped 1 system over after dropping loot of at HQ station, and found another 4/10 lol
Lucked out though as it only gave up 2 pithi damage resist specific hardeners, but still, LOL.

Right now i have 8 pithi C-types and 2/3 of each damage specific hardener in my hangar ( im hoarding them in the hope the value will rise lol )


That should paint a pretty clear picture of how exploration goes, you can go weeks without finding something good, and then you'll get lucky, just keep hitting them. I've also ran the hideouts/hideaways in the hope of getting an escalation, one did do just that, but wanted me to go from high sec straight into null sec to run a scout outpost, harsh. Even ran a couple of escalations that ran their corse to the very end and got nothing, not even a tag or faction ammo.

Lastly, if your only scanning high sec ( you never specified ) you shouldnt be losing ships. Just sayin'

Yeah, I guess Emperor Salazar would need a vacation after losing 1 Raptor and pod along with 2 Tengu's and 1 pod during the month of September. Must say you're lucky you didn't lose a 3rd pod after your 2nd Tengu got ganked. Hmmm, what a shame. And to think all this happened within a couple of weeks, gotta love Karma.

Raptor lost to gatecamp in null while scouting for a fleet. First tengu lost to sniggs because I misjudged my aggression timer, second tengu lost to an arazu/loki pirate combo in low sec because I was lazy. Yeah, definitely "hunted." Whereas, you've left high sec....how many times?

Hi OP, RNGs are fun mmmkay, 5 sites isn't statistically significant. (I don't have the population size [total number of plexes run in EVE per day] but I suspect that 100 in a day isn't statistically significant) So the only way to judge changing odds of drops in plexes would be to track the price of the mods that drop. (Assuming demand and the rate which plexes are run remain constant)

There's also no way to even guess at the absolute odds of a drop unless you collect data on a truly enormous sample of plexes (or bribe a dev).
