Please, get out and play the game for once. You owe it to yourself. It's sad seeing people flying around in "doctrine" ships because the alliance tells you to. Why don't you train for the ship you think looks cool? Also, instead of following orders and flying around in terrible T1 ships that don't suit you - where you are simply part of "the blob," why don't you break that mold and go do something fun?

Do you like making your alliance leaders wealthy, while your out getting popped in ships you didn't intend to fly?

You people sadden me.

You try and FC a fleet of lets say 50+ ships where everybody is flying what ever they like against a fleet of equal numbers where everybody is flying to a doctrine and see what happens Big smile

Well, I put together my ships, but the hilarious thing is reimbursement. Which I still think means you make money getting blown up. Though with the contracts, those are usually pegged to the reimbursement so between that and insurance, you're not losing anything.

If anything, taxes are the contributor...

Are we occupying something?

But well the OP has a point, I guess. But why do people form giant organizations and obey other people?

profit?

fun?

sense of belonging?

Allmost everyone wants to be on the winning side , even if it means you're playing the toilet cleaner of the winning side. Also it looks cool on your bc/eve-kill statistics 150 B isk destroyed , even if you didn't do anything without your 50 buddies and your best solo kill is a frig.

And ^^that,^^ too.

Some of us, though, like our sandbox-experience to be a little less one-dimensional and a little less...(/me chuckles cynically)...scripted.

yep people make money on strategic doctrines provided they insure their ships.

Our reimbursement doesn't exist, I heard that TEST ate it all. Or maybe it was some other of our blues. I don't know, were we trying to bribe people into cascading?

You're more than welcome to bring your Loki with a Hurricane fleet.

It's not just the ships people, it's the fact that these alliances tell you when, why and how you should play this game, when your the one who pays to play this game - for fun. Should I mention the ridiculous comm's requirements: Jabber, Mumble, Teamspeak, and god knows how many other third party apps you need to satisfy the wants of large alliances. I came here to play a game, and when I log out, that means I am not playing anymore. But no, these alliance leaders want you to be around even when you aren't logged in. Who are you people?

I tried the 0.0 alliance life, and I liked it. But it sucks you in and before you know it, your computer is taken over by applications that you don't even want there, your eve character is training skills you don't want to train. I just want to open the eyes of so many pilots who forget what eve is all about; Go try something new, explore the various things eve has to offer. Don't spend countless hours, days or even weeks running around doing the same thing, fighting wars that don't benefit you. Go play eve for what it is - a game.
