Hello fellow pilots, wondered if someone could help me...

I have some Ask toolbar installed on my computer but for some reason cant get rid of it?

I have gone into Control Panel and uninstalled/removed it, but its still here?
I have downloaded some Ask removal tool, ran it, but its still here?
Tried telling it 'I hate you' but its still here?

Wondered if anyone else has encountered this problem and could offer any solutions?

I am currently running a virus Scan, see if that does anything.

Thanks for your time,

Lee McGee.

Open browser, go to View > Toolbars > uncheck the one you don't want.

Then next time you install something and it asks if you want the ask toolbar installed too, kick it in the ask.
That's how it gets in anyway, bundled, that I've seen. Most people don't pay attention though.

It should work anyway. The directions are a bit old, not sure if dated. I had it on my desktop computer before, pre-installed, I searched-removed it in the windows registry. If you didn't figure that out already, I'd suggest following directions like from the link above. Registry editing was part of my college curriculum, and it's no wives tale that it's easy to turn your OS into a doorstop. Just whatever you do, make sure your backups are updated and exported.

I'm in it for the money

Hi Webvan,

Thanks for your time to reply. I believe I have sorted it now, I reset Firefox to its default settings, so far no Ask in search options.

Thanks again guys.

Well next time, do like i said.
In firefox, at the top click

VIEW
then click on
TOOLBAR
then click on the one you don't want to appear anymore.
Not the addon section.
