Aaaand it's this time again.

Yesterday, after quite a while, i wanted to log in again for a moment,
but got the Status: Unknown again.

I forgot about it and did something else.

Today, right now, i want to log in,
just to see the same thing ... Status: Unknown.

Not even the ad is showing up, just an x.

I will unplug my modem now, like every time,
because that's the only thing that helped each time.

Is there any news i might have missed about this issue ?
Anything ?

If unplugging your modem fixes it, then the issue is probably on your end or with your ISP.

Unplugged, plugged back in, modem reconnected ...

39.302 Players.

Tau ... that's a reasonable conclusion,
although i fail to understand how that would work,
because EvE is the only program i ever experience this.

Thank you for your attention.

Is this a shared modem?
Is your WAN IP address changing each time you power cycle (assuming that's what you meant by unplugging)?
Run a thorough virus and rootkit check lately?

Yes, but the others only use youtube and surf the web ... no actually bad sites whatsoever
and they have their own machines anyway.

I haven't actually thought of that ... years of having a fixed IP.
I've noted the IP and will compare once i have to unplug (yes, from power) again.
What's the reason for this question ?

No virus or any other malicious software. It's not only this machine,
it's every machine i have.

Maybe you have a zombie on the network and CCP's servers are blocking the IP due to excessive pings

It must be you, I played 16 hours straight, from noon EST.

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"

That's an interesting idea ... but there's no way i have a zombie machine ...
The issue happened spread around the last year often enough to be disturbing,
also on newly set up and newly bought machines ...

I know that the issue must lie somewhere *between* me and CCP,
i just have no idea what the issue could be. I'm 100% certain that
the issue does not lie on the machines i'm using.

I just hoped somebody got information about this. Somebody who
might have experienced the same thing. I can't be the only one.

Have you tried accessing several random websites when this problem has cropped up? (Sites that you know aren't cached)

Have you tried staying online and only use one PC and one eve client also without a wireless connection but by cable? Go from there and maybe can figure it out.

It is quite possible that your ISP does not support inter-ISP link connection switching.
CCP use some smart algorithms to determine how good your connection is to their network. If a more reliable or stable connection is found, it sends out a "switch me to that better link" message to the ISP you are connected to. This effectively drops your connection to CCP for a tiny fraction of time. However, if your ISP does not have the hardware that supports this switching, you lose connection and are left in CCP network limbo.

The above is just simplifying what happens.

i have this problem with 2 games the first is wow since patch 5.0.0 this is their problem as the game disconnects me

the second is eve but i found that i have multi systems taxing my modem the truth is in this case resetting the router fixes the issue but i've only had to do this when me my son and my missus and my little girl are all playing download intense software games
mabie all that info is clogging ya modem i no mines outdated by about 2 years
even tho my pc kicks ass the little things can let u down
go to a pc person and talk to them one u can trust i know there are only a few out there but u can find people that will help u it could be your isp it could be your router has cracked it and not working properly it could be many things

its the only downside to online pc gaming what happens to one person doesn't always happen to others

I always use only one client, as i don't use alts. I've been using this one machine for quite a while now
and before it was a different one, but also always only one machine with one client.

That's interesting. I remember the time they said they are doing this and i didn't actually have any issues before that,
but why would the unplugging of my modem affect that ?

I had this same issue yesterday night. Not quite at the same time you did however.

It disconnected a couple of times, then refused to connect for 45 minutes. I was chatting on Jabber at the time, so I know it was just Eve.
