Ratting in hostile null?

Looking for a Gallente ship capable of ratting in null with lots of GTFO ability. I was thinking of using an ishkur. Will this be enough dps to take care of the [very] odd faction spawn I might find? If the ishkur will work, does anyone have a fit I could look at?

The fit does not have to focus around not using ammo. Operating out of a C1 wh. Ammo will always just be a couple of jumps away.

I always have a sentry Ishtar fitted I was going to use for the plexes we find. I am hoping that the ishkur will be enough for simple ratting though.

Easy. Fit Nemesis and go to Goon space to poach their Serpentis rats. Their blasters don't pose a threat to SB. Upon encounter of whine, cloak up and sit somewhere until the butthurt in local subside.Cool

Anyway, Ishkur is limited to 25mbit bandwidth, so no full set of med drones, which are still too weak anyway. For larger droneboats, Heavy and Sentry are slow/stationary, you want to be aligned and on the move, not sitting still. Forget drones.

errr.. never mind. I completely read that wrong..

So now that I seem like a jackass, perhaps I need to go read bonuses a bit better.

Yeah, SB's are great for ratting in hostile space. (Not Angel Space. Angels instapop Hounds. <_<;)

An Ishtar is also a possibility, as you can kite around from any distance while killing rats with your heavy drones, so you'll be far off center if someone warps into the belt.

Says who? I've ratted in 0.0 killing Angels in a Hound many times, it works perfectly well.

And, to the OP, SBs are your best bet for ratting in hostile 0.0, they have plenty of DPS to take out the rats and are next to impossible to lose if you know what you're doing and pay attention to Local/Dscan.

If you have access to them, the Hound and Purifier will be the best suited for this in my experience, due to the ability to fit 2 BCUs and a MSE. The Manticore would be my next choice; the Nemesis tends to have some fitting issues.

Huh, must just be unlucky then. My Hound always gets chased down and driven off by their pesky, fast destroyers/frigs. (And by driven off, I mean warping off in deep armor.)

Gallente have the best ship ever for ratting in hostile null. Its called the ishtar. No need for ammo, wether or not you can get it, meaning you can stay in system for as long as you want to be ratting without fear of gate camps. Enough DPS to take down pretty much anything you can find and, so long as you're not doing it fast asleep more than enough agility to GTFO to a safe and cloak when the locals come to turf you out.

Min drones as I used to do mine in Scalding Pass. Enough range that you can warp to 100 at the belt, lock the bs and drop sentries. ECM for the odd time you're dumb enough to get caught and lights for the odd frig that might scram you when you're chaining.

114km optimal + falloff on the drones and 120km lock range. If you're there a while a good safe on each of the belts means you are for all intents and purposes invunerable.

Enjoy
