The Retribution DevBlog: Scientology Reference

The above short scene appears at 2:56 (2 minutes and 56 seconds) and is in all probability a joke.
However funny this may be to some people I find it in bad taste if only because the idea of anybody in CCP being involved in Scientology is unsettling.

What do you think?

I don't give a rats arse what religion/philosophy anyone at CCP has. I just want them to keep making improvements and additions to the game.

Who cares what religion/philosophy they have, since it does not adversely effect the game?

I think that you're right, it was probably a joke. However it is considered to be a religion in some countries and your comment is pretty much on a par with saying "I find it disturbing that someone at CCP is a *insert religious denomination of choice*"

If people want to believe in space aliens as gods and a scifi version of the rapture then let them, it's no more far fetched than christianity, islam, judaism, hinduism, sikhism or any other religion.

I don't care what they believe, I care that Scientology abuses people and is essentially a criminal enterprise. There is an overabundance of documentation on the criminal actions of organized Scientology, one need only look. Child abuse, ****, slavery, torture, human trafficking, all of this is documented. Let's not make this into one of ~those~ threads. If you think aliens are gods I don't care. I made this thread to bring attention to the Scientology reference in the dev video.

Mormon is not a religion, why we don't show religious tolerance to it. Mormons are just bad parents, who spank their kids wildly in public areas, like the mall or parks.

Come on please!
CCP videos are often noted to be humorous and often have easter eggs in them but there's no need to bring religion and/or politics into the forums.

There's no way of having a discussion about this that won't end up offending someone, so we don't allow this sort of discussion here at all.

I would like to know, what was the desired outcome of this section of the video?
Maybe I just don't get the joke or do not think it's funny. Sure there is the whole space aliens thing but that is kind of a lame pun.
