You're ignoring the fact that this is a massive deterrent against crime in highsec.
Meaning that for people who already play highsec safely, now have it even safer.
Congratulations, we're one step closer to Trammel, all because of you ******** highsec carebears.

This thread is BS.

The same people complaining now are going to figure out ways to game the mechanics to result in doing exactly the very thing they complain about, except their idea of "undesirables" are people not like them (usually referred to as "pubbies").

Firing on someone in high-sec, despite the outcome, will now result in what is essentially a 30-day free-for-all flag on the dirty scumbag. That is, it will result in a month-long prison sentence. Leave the prison, and anyone can shoot you, anywhere, with no warning. Not even a message or a short timer to get ready. Not even a break between collection attempts. They can't even exhaust a finite amount of attempts on the target. All they have to do is accept the kill right, and possibly pay a fee (and I don't imagine too many people will charge fees, considering what this system implies).

Are you really complaining that after having the upper hand in deciding where and when your high-sec victim will die, you don't like it now that the victim has the upper hand in deciding where and when you die?

Karma is a *****. No, strike that. Karma is a virgin, because a ***** is too easy.

If we are really being told not to shoot at noobs if aggressed by them in rookie systems, that's completely broken and we have every reason to complain.

Until I see somebody from CCP post that we shouldn't shoot back but should instead petition it, I have to assume they didn't think of this and therefore it's broken.

So you're saying that everyone who got ganked deserved what they got? Agreed! Big smile

The prison system and the death penalty are also deterrents, doesn't stop people committing crime, your actions will now have consequences.

Being CONCORDed when you suicide-gank someone, or being flagged to a whole corporation when you steal someone's can, aren't consequences?

Not to mention that in the real world, crime is profitable. They patched that out a few patches ago, didn't they?

Criminal actions in this game have had consequences ever since CONCORD was introduced. What this is doing is continuing to close the gap. It's a slow elimination of all crime in highsec. We're not joking or exaggerating when we see this eventually leading to not being able to fire weapons on a player at all in highsec unless you're at war with them or otherwise legal targets.

So losing your ship once is cost of doing business, but losing it twice is consequence? What would the third time be called?

I don't know OP, usually I agree completely with your posts but these changes seem like opportunities to make high sec interesting for yourself. I do hate the fact though, that **** for brains cretins get somewhat cradled again.

Yes. Apparently it means that for the first time in Eve, if we are aggressed by rookies in a rookie system we don't really have any alternatives.

Still waiting to find out about those petitions. Shocked

The problem I have with this system is that being a "suspect" allows everyone in space to shoot at you.

Think about how that works... "I suspect you of a crime. Firing squad.... fire!"

What the...

The third time is that much closer to being no different than miners and probably earning a buff through forum mechanics.

Nice try. Previously, the ganker got to choose how much they lost. Now the ganker has to look over their shoulder and worry for 30 days about how much isk they lose if they get suddenly ganked.

Just like having to replace an exhumer because you refused to tank it was a "cost of doing business."

Except right now if they shoot me because I'm flashy, I can shoot back.

So that's a whole lot different there, isn't it?

Lol I'm trying to play Devils Advocate here, I have no doubt that people will find ways of turning the new crimewatch to their advantage, in fact I'm eager to see what people come up with (excluding picking on rookies because that's pretty low).

What it will do is weed out those that use the current mechanics for the sole purpose of urinating on the so called carebears.

Grumpymunky wrote:

Yes. The idiots that refused to tank their exhumers were just that, idiots, I mine on an alt, have done for nigh on 3 years and my mining ships have always fitted a tank, I wasn't daft enough to mine during the Hulkgeddon campaigns and have never lost one, people would ship scan me and then move on to the idiot with zero tank or shiny mods.

I've lost ships in WHs to roving gangs, I've been dumb and lost ships to NPC's in Hisec, all costs related to the way I play as far as I'm concerned

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
