the complaining about complaining has served its meta purpose long enough. Where's ISD when you actually need them?

We complain because we feel that we play the best game ever.

And when we fail. It must be due to broken game mechanics.

And every change that isn't making the best gamer ever better (for me) is a total fail.

What else is new?

As an obviously assorted slime I take some objection to this.

But just some due to the generic wisdom provided, just dropping the almost hidden anti-yank part ;)

Ie, the forums isn't eve.

You all know, no matter how much we deny it, the game is slowly dieing. The amount of people on during the week is barley topping 30k, now with EvE and the amount of systems, this is simply not enough players.

So why is it when CCP try to *dumb down* and make high sec *safer* for new players

You all start complaining like children?

Grow up, do you want EvE to dissapear or don't you care? We need more players, alot more players.

Quit your moaning

That's what a forum is for. A place to voice your opinion. A place to complain. Hey, you can even complain about the people who are complaining about the complaining. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

As for the changes, changes come and changes go. Some are good. Some not so good. We complain about all of them, but we still keep coming back until the day we don't. And then you won't hear any complaints, only silence. So don't write off complaints, they mean that there's an active community and people are interested. Be afraid when no one says anything.

EvE is dying because it's a 9 year old game that, minus the minor graphics updates, still has essentially the same content it did 9 years ago.
No major PvE content overhauls, no major world content added.
Incursions were just the same thing...blow up red x's.
WH's were just more blow up red x's with the addition of you might get blown up by red boxes.
PvE is boring and uninspiring.

PvP...is the same, boring and uninspiring.
Null: Blobs, ISK Moguls hiding behind endless resources and more blobs.
Low sec: is a waste of space.

Ship re-balancing should be a precursor to major content additions , but it wont be. It's all there is.
For more endless, pointless combat. 9 years....9 years of stagnating game design and dwindling player subs.
What is the answer to all this?

Does CCP buckle down, and start devoting time and effort into polishing up EvE? Re-texturing and remodeling the endless amounts of ancient world props that are outright butt ugly? Populate the world with strange and beautiful celestial phenomena?
Make the NPCs come alive with npc faction ai near stations and gates...doing npc stuff? Blinking ads on gates encouraging players to join faction warfare..or to try new spicy protein delicacies? Fix the damn hit boxes? Give more ships unique hulls so they aren't just re-textures? And that's just part of the graphics/world design...to go into other categories...would take ages. So anyways, is this what CCP does?

Nope.

They dump millions into DUST.
A unknown IP into a already crowded and aging FPS market.
Is DUST going to unseat Call of Doody? No.
Is DUST going to unseat all the other FPS games that are well known and have a dedicated player base? No.
Go look at the search habits on Google...here I'll do it for you.

http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=%22DUST%20514%22%20,%20%22Call%20of%20Duty%22,%20%22Halo%22,%20%22Team%20Fortress%202%22,%20%22Quake%22

The link says more about it than I ever could.

The player base is the only thing that keeps EvE interesting.
EvE itself is nothing more than a machine to endlessly make and explode ships.

I complain because EvE could easily be a attractive world filled with eye candy and rich content to attract new players and keep old players entertained and encouraged by the loving care their game is getting...instead of 6 month development times to add 4 ships and 1 re-model and change some of the numbers around.
Other MMOs add entire new worlds to their game in 6 months...what could have happened to EvE with focused development...and all of the cash that went into DUST?

Not to worry, rumor has it content will be bolstered when the SpacePandas of Caldaria patch comes out.

Fun fact: the last time the server “topped out” at anywhere near 30k was on new-year's eve (31.6k). On a normal week, only Fridays will regularly see PCUs lower than 40k.

People have been saying EVE is dying since day one. They secretly WANT it to die (or at least decline) because that will confirm their belief that somehow the things they don't like about the game are so severe and serious that other people will hate them as much as they do.

The absolute most irritating thing to people like that (*looks at Taranius De Consolville*) EVE not only doesn't die, but it's still growing and expanding, providing proof that the things they hate about the game aren't that earth shatteringly bad in the 1st place.

Too bad they can't enjoy the game for what it is. You'll notice that the "EVE is dying" crowd tends to be largely high sec only players afraid that their comfy in-game security blanket my be taken away (*looks at Taranius De Consolville again*).

Many complain because others do not use the sandbox in a way which confroms to how they think we should all play the game.

This is not a signature.

I remember the days when seeing a unbelievably huge crowd of 500 people in Jita made you wonder what type of event was going on.

Now, with an average of 900-1100 in that system.....

Well, I wonder what math the OP is using.
