XMAS is coming. and a chance for the old lady to upgrade some hardware for me. Some ram here, new monitor there, and so on.

First, the mouse.....i need some suggestions
Ive never used a mmo mouse, with programable side buttons. So, id like to know, is there a mouse out there that can perform certain functions. and when i say perform certain functions i mean, more then just assaigning the '1' on the side of the mouse to act as f1. some of the functions id like to quick button are

1. locking targets
2. commanding drones to attack the active target
3. firing on the active target
4. opening the selected item (cargo container, customs office, wreck)
5. return drones to drone bay/ return drones and orbit

Next, the Keyboard,
Is there any keyboards that offer a clear advantage, less button pushing, less scrolling and selecting. Main goal is to make certain pvp, pve tasks faster with less actions required


finally, headset.
Nothing special in sound quality or special functions, i just want a suggestion of something i can wear for two hours and not have my ears feel like crap. My 25$ headset right now hurts after about a half hour, so ive resorted to apple headphones and a shirt clip on mic. it sucks, and i often cant find my mic quick enough.



so, give me some hardware suggestions and some of their advantages. Ive read some mixed reviews of the razer naga series. mostly they suck and are over priced, but thats the type of hardware that i want to make a move too.

g15 key board

and the microsoft sidewinder mouse is what i have very good

Don't get the Cyborg RAT it's junk and I've had to RMA 2 of them so far.

Corsair have a new gaming mouse out that I've herd a lot of good things about but haven't had a chance to try out.

I'm currently using the G15 keyboard and am very happy with it.

You must have had the 1st generation of the RAT 'cause I also had to RMA twice. 1st one lasted 6 months to the day. 2nd one 20 days. 3rd one not a problem and its way over a year old, maybe 2, not sure. the serial number on the 3rd RAT is in a completely different type/format than the first 2.

It must have been a know issue with them, when I emailed them letting them know they stopped working it was no questions asked except for a scan of the receipt and my address.

Air express from the US to AU I had the replacements 3 days later. Didn't have to return the old ones so I got lots of spare batteries.

I wish all customer service was like that.

Mouse: Logitech G9X

Keyboard:Logitech G510 because of the 18 custom keys that let you configure macro's which as you wanted lets you do all those 5 things and even more basically you can perform alot of functions by just pressing a few keys and it allows you to plug in a headset through it

I use all the above and they work quite well


for headset...don't really know since I connect eve to a TV (most of the time )so basically don't use headset but razer-carcharias seems like a very nice one from looking at it.

'probably the best gaming keyboard in the world...only a bot has more macro's.

G15 is o-k, but ostentatious and has no bounce to it...

I stand corrected

This looks very interesting, and visually looks 100 times better than the non-mechanical logitech k-boards.

Had one of them also just the G9. The rubbery coating on the shells wore off after a few months making them slippery to use.

Emailed Logitech about it and was told "you're using it to much, our testing shows the coating will last at least 12 months"

That was the last logitech item I ever purchased. Never again.
