OK So i see 2 different weapons.
One has a optimal range of 4800. and a accuracy fall off of 6000m ..
Another with a optimal range of 43km and a accuracy fall off of 20km.

Does this mean that the accuracy fall off is plus or minus that of the optimal range?

Falloff takes effect after the optimal range ends. So 43km optimal and 20km fallout does 100% damage (barring tracking and size issues) in the first 43km, then drops down to about half damage at 63km (43+20). tracking and falloff calculators exist for a more detailed description of what happens in falloff.

So if they are 5km away .. my hit chance wont be 0?

At 5km, you aren't losing damage because of optimal or falloff. You might not be able to hit because of tracking. If the target is sitting still at 5km you'll have a 100% chance to hit if if optimal is above 5km.

Correct, though if they are moving, your chance of hit drops fast (due to tracking issues).

250mm Railgun II

Rate of Fire -- 6 sec
Damage Modifier -- 3.3x
Optimal Range -- 28.80 km
Accuracy Falloff -- 12 km
Tracking Speed / Accuracy -- 0.023 radius / second.

So without any modifiers for skills, ammo, etc, you would hit for full damage up to 28.80 km range, and about 50% of that at 40 km range. If the target is moving faster around your ships 'radius' than .023 / sec, you will start to hit less.

Simplified but hope it helps

Its pretty simple.

Weapon optimal range 28 Km

Accuracy falloff 12km

it just means that after 12km your bullet start dropping accuracy, cant be easier than this.

so is you want a 100% weapon damage you wanna have

Weapon optimal range lets say 30 Km

Accuracy falloff 30Km and more

please ignore this troll

within optimal = super awesome hits unless you cannot track the target
takes your optimal then add your falloff = hits, but not as good

if your optimal is 10km and falloff 5km you will do your most damage 1-10km away, but something that is 11-15km away will still get hit.

To expand on this, at Optimal+1x Fallout (In this case 40.80k) you will do 50% damage. At Optimal+2x Fallout, you have a 0% chance to hit.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

At Optimal+1x Fallout accuracy can be 50% plus a degree of less damage. At Optimal+2x Fallout, you'd have like a base of 2% to hit, but yeah 0% is more literally accurate.

Technically you won't do 50% damage, but you have 50% chance to hit. Although the chance to score good hits is lowered too.

Not quite right thanks to criticals etc but close enough.
