Not at all. All the user has to do is program it to warp between safe spots for 15 minutes.

Yeah - it's a bit meagre - no ring mining, no tech nerf.

Rebalancing and overhauling stuff is important and nice, but really not expansion material - that's what I call a patch. Moreover, I can see their reasons for doing it from the lowest class upwards, but at the current pace, it will be a year before I'd be willing to undock in a T2 ship again.

At least that mitigates CCPs unwillingness to do something about tech...

False. Apocrypha had a large amount of new content and was incredibly fun and to this point remains the best expansion in the game during the time that I have played.

Wasn't CCPs big goal to run a Destroy, Harvest, Create cycle...... we just had destroy.... so now the harvest one is a single frigate which 95% of players are either well beyond using or not interested in. Seems that apart from some balancing and 5 ships this isnt an expansion its just a small patch.

Dont get me wrong I love new content and balancing but this is kind of not really worth looking forward to.

All in all, I think CCP is getting ready for releasing DUST 514. The balancing and reworking of crimewatch, it seems as is part of that agenda. To make the wave of new dust players come into eve and enjoy it.

Personally I'd like to see them hurry up with pos changes and leave the heavy missile alone, but we can't always get what we want Pirate And where is ringmining??

I heard from an alliance guy who attended Eve Vegas that there's going to be a revamp to the Drone Regions, namely:

  • drones will give out sec status
  • they're be hauler and officer spawns
  • new DED complexes

You're joking right? I've literally been waiting YEARS for a fix to the bounty hunter system. Imo, this could be the best patch EVER!Lol

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

I think this expansion will be awesome, cant wait for it to launch.

For the next expansion i can see a industrial theme coming, POSes, ringmining, revamped production/science ui etc. Will be at least equally awesome.

Light on content? What?

  • Decent AI for ALL NPCs in game
  • Rebalancing of at least 40 ships (inc. introduction of the concept of T1 logi frigates and cruisers)
  • Changes to Missiles and Hurricanes (technically a nerf, or a buff to everything else)
  • Crimewatch V2
  • New (hopefully useful) bounty hunting system
  • Changes to FW (no details yet)
  • 4 new destroyers
  • 1 new mining frigate
  • Last of the V3 graphics updates
  • Plus whatever else hasn't been announced, rumours of new modules etc

I actually think that considering some of the size of those changes thats a pretty ram packed list.

The upcoming Retribution expansion seems pretty light on features. I mean I do understand the need to fix the difficult to understand aggression systems, and to make bounty hunting a viable profession. The updated AI should be nice.

But apart from a couple new ships. Is this really it? Or is there another announcement forthcoming?

Revamp so many ships like cruisers and battlecruisers, add new destroyers, change aggression primordial system just this one means they have to work at the core of an old game and code it again witch is probably a lot of work.
Add modules and more funky stuff like work on player owned stations, FW fixing, industry changes probably smaller at this point but those might be important core system changes.

Edit: ho and all the points the man above just pointed too, and that makes a lot of work already.

This should be an awesome expansion, fix old stuff witch is the most important part before adding more content and then add new toys. This is great.

Most of the missiles are getting a big buff. (HMLs are getting nerfed, Cruise are staying the same, Lights are getting +10% DPS and a fitting buff, all short range missiles are getting a massive buff effective damage buff due to Guided Missile Precision skill)

This does look like a pretty anemic patch overall with some nice features that will be used to grief the overlyemotional and ISK heavy (I'm looking at you Bounty Hunter System). We didn't need new destroyers but we did need Sov mechanics and POS's fixed. Could have done with some work on that ISK Fountain called Wormholes, PI still kind of sucks, etc... CCP seems to have lost their mojo after Incarna and the freak out that was the Nex Store. I would love to see something big and awesome come down the pipe, maybe in the summer...

I would just like to see a trailer. Does anyone work in the trailer dept. at CCP anymore?

I agree. And they managed to do it with a much smaller team than they have now.

Which is why I get confused when people try and defend these micro expansions that we are getting nowadays as being great.

The first part isn't true. From my understanding they had a FAR larger team working on Apocrypha than any other expansion, they even pulled everyone from DUST and WOD teams to work on it. Also remember this was prior to the 20% layoff as well. Even with stating all that Apocrypha was one of the best expansions for Eve to date, and its a shame they switched to this staggered release crap.

Perhaps when you're paying 49.99 for the expansion, you can complain more about how meager it is.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

There was a trailer before Inferno came out.

I read somewhere that Retribution will not be staggered like Crucible and Inferno?

This is a poor argument, since sub wise Eve is usually a higher rate than most sub based MMOs, so you do pay more for the expansions just over a longer time frame. Also this would imply that CCP actually makes expansions worth 49.99.

I don't know personally. I know that they claimed it was the new SOP post Apocrypha and every expansion since has followed suit. So it's purely based off of assumption.

Subwise the cost of Eve is about average, most of the subscription MMO's seem to hover around the $14.95 mark.

Personally I think that re-iteration, balance & bug fixes should take precedence over new shinies.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Sorry, A bunch of fixes that should have been addressed years ago, and a couple new ships <> an expansion.
Not to mention they don't address the biggest issue in 0.0 unlimited income and risk free pvp.

Patch...not an Expansion.
