TL;DR - Integrate 5 sticky price tiers at the top of the bazaar which sellers can add a link to their sales into (once only).

The Character Bazaar is quite a mess most of the times, and it would appear that the ISD's spend quite a bit of time weeding out the idiots who don't follow the simple and very straight forward rules.

A forum isn't the most ideal way to sell things, but given the Character Bazaar sells a single product the idea I'm proposing is suitable improvement to the workflow and efficiency of the Bazaar.

Quote:
Ask yourself, what is the main 'variable' in the Bazaar? The answer is: Price.

As buyers OR sellers, this is what it comes down to. You have a budget in mind - but the forum is a hot mess to navigate when it comes to this.. so what is the solution?

In an attempt to improve the way in which characters are bought and sold I'm proposing that the forum has 5 new stickies added to the top of the forum..

Arrow Characters (3B)
Arrow Characters (4B - 9B)
Arrow Characters (10B - 19B)
Arrow Characters (20B - 29B)
Arrow Characters (30B +)

The premise of these stickies is simple: If you are selling your toon for 7 bil b/o, post a COPY of your advertisement with a LINK to the thread in the 4B-9B sticky using the Character that is for sale.

Here are the benefits of this system -

Buyers:
- Finally you can easily find characters that are within your 'price range' without having to sift through all the crap.
- Keeping up to date with new listings that may have been posted just hours ago (but are now on page 3 of the forums) won't mean you miss out on what could have been the perfect character for you.
- Most importantly... you can subscribe to all Character listings within a certain price point.

Sellers:
- At last you don't need to worry about 'bumping' your threads every five minutes. Now you can just focus on writing a good blurb and summary of skills for your character.
- Still want to auction your toon, but want people to know what price range your buyout is in without having to explicitly give it away? Now you can provide a ballpark.
- Most importantly... your listing will now get MUCH more exposure within the first few days.

ISD's: (you didn't think I'd leave you fellas out did you?)
- FINALLY a way to get an 'overview' of which muppets are not in NPC corps yet.
- FINALLY a way to reduce cheeky 'bumpers'.
- Eliminates WTB advertisements which are purely focused on price.

The underlying premise is simply to make the Char bazaar slightly more organised - so that if someone is looking to buy or sell, they can do so without having to trawl through the first 5 pages to find all toons that are within their budget.

Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to think about this stuff, we really appreciate it.

The bazaar forums are indeed somewhat taxing at times Pirate

I'll forward this post to my chain of command,

Thanks and fly safe!

Thanks ISD Suvetar.

I was just thinking an addition to the above suggestion there could also be a dedicated Wanted to Buy thread as well.

In this proposed model, a 'Buyer' posts their requirements (an advertisement) in a dedicated "Wanted to Buy" sticky.

Sellers are encouraged to EVEMail their thread links to the potential buyers as opposed to posting into the WTB thread.

Why? Because this process completely removes the 'WTB' threads from the forums. Instead focusing them into one thread where sellers can approach "Buyers" privately via Evemail.

Benefits:
ArrowThis self pruning process will mean that when a Wanted to Buy ad has been filled the Buyer needs to modify their original post to reflect that they are no longer looking (otherwise they will continue to receive evemails).
ArrowIn turn this eliminates all "WTB" threads on the forum.

Ultimately the point of these adjustments is to increase the overall efficiency of the noticeboards and make buying and selling a much easier experience.

Bump for attention. Would really love to see this implemented if possible.

Good idea, especially now that an in game response is required to reply to someone who posts in your thread, so you don't bump it.

This wouldn't be entirely difficult to implement. I'm looking for constructive feedback along side any potential downsides to this proposal.. Have at it!

By race with a 5th option for multiracial

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

Not by Race that'd be annoying. But yes this idea would certainly make selling alts easier!

Un-necessary change. The current system works and we are all familiar with it. And frankly I see the character bazaar becoming less used in these coming days anyway due to the multiple effects of the exponential PLEX price increase we are seeing.

Thanks for supporting change and growth. Lets all stop playing EvE and play Doom, most of us are familiar with it.
then we can all sit around the camp fire and QQ about PLEX prices, where can i sign up for this ?
