Note: Amarr rookie ships cannot be used as cyno ships without the addition of cargo expanders, so don't use an Amarr character. MAPC is no longer required by any rookie ship.

You want to lite cyno's? Or be able to jump to them?

To lite a cyno for someone else to jump to is easy. As others have already said. However when you lite a cyno you are stuck in that spot for 10 minutes. you can not move. This is why many players use cyno alts. you can fit a cyno on a rookie ship and it takes very little skills that need to be trained. Only a few days to train a useable cyno alt.

If you actually want to jump to cyno's that is a whole other story. Capital ships can not use gates. They travel by using a jump drive. The only ship with a jump drive that can also use gates is a jump freighter. But they can not jump to anywhere they want. the jump drive needs a cyno to lock onto. You jump to the location where the cyno is lit.

If you want to use jump drives there are several ships that have them. All except the black ops battleships are capital class ships. Black ops are very expensive T2 battleships and only have a short range jump drive. They however can jump to covert cyno's meaning they are hidden and not visible on the overview by everyone in the system like regular cyno's are. Once you get into capital ships the only way to travel between systems is by jumping. there are dreadnaughts, carriers, super carriers, and Titans for each race. All require very high skills to get into, and even more skills if you want to survive. Capital ships are also limited to low/null sec and wormhole space.

put some care into navi skills. Be quick and be agile....or even a crap camp may pop you and no cyno for anyone. Not a must have for your basic undock and light up for a station jump by a carrier but if a mate needs you as a quick midpoint somewhere far it can get interesting.

Best frigate to train....all 4 racial frigs 4. You never know what market will bear. IMO, jsut best to to have all the t1 frigs in case only 1 racial frigate is on the market (or not at where's the ky price).
