Just because people have multiple accounts doesn't mean they are all running around in a fleet with their own characters.

Indeed, that isn't always the case, but that was not the crux of my argument. I think the way the game has been developed since the '04-5 era has been formed on the premise that players will have need of alts to get around the obvious issues associated with enjoying one or another niche of the game.

Most people use the multiple accounts for the utility it grants you. Being able to run an anom, then warp in an already set up hacker/analyzer/salvager is invaluable. It is also a hell of a lot better than having to depend on someone else to be on/run the things you want. You also don't have to share your isk with them.

And I think that hints at what the fruits of multibox-focused development has won for us. Attempts to do more than very limited pve activities (ie. the prescient level 4 mission grind that is easily done with just one account) immediately brings the player to a place where having more than one account is not just optimal, but almost vital. Exploration outside of highsec with a single account is brutal. As someone who spent the better part of his EVE career with a half-dozen active accounts, I found the shift back to one account shocking in this regard. I had simply forgotten how much I took the extra accounts for granted.

The limitation inherent in trying to all-in-one a ship are taken as necessary, but I can't take anyone seriously who says it absolutely must be so. Why not have ships slated for exploration? ie. with some moderate combat ability and an extra mid-slot or two for scanning modules. Why are so many of the prominent solo-income activities seemingly predicated on the presence of an alt or two? I don't claim to have a solution, but I think the problem is, as I said, manifested in just how nonchalant many have become in regards to just how obvious it is that one utilize more than one account.

I've been around too long to seriously insist that reform is absolutely necessary. I got wealthy with a plethora of accounts and I remain functionally able to enjoy the game with just one, but I do think we'd be wise not to bury these issues in the manure of what now passes for utilitarian common sense.

I like to go solo because I feel personally that being in a gang takes a lot of the decision making that makes this game cool out of the picture. I only f1 monkey out of necessity. I also don't like leading fleets because I find myself being indecisive and have a fear of other players second guessing my judgement.

When I am solo all mistakes made only hurt me, I am more mobile, I can have a more bad ass battleclinic page and larger epeen, I am the one in charge, and being a lone wolf just appeals to me more on a RP level. Without my scout alt going solo is very difficult and it makes my pve endeavors to fund my ships a lot more time consuming and less profitable. All in all having a second account is probably the best choice I ever made in this game. I believe time spent PLAYING the game should reap better rewards and while the eve skill system does remove a lot of the standard RPG grinding I hate that it does limit my ability to have time spent = things accomplished. The second account is the only answer to my personal in game needs and anyone who disagrees will simply be left behind.

If you want to train for pve and pvp go minmatar, best possible overlap.
