Being able to directly interact with the CCP Devs is one of the primary reasons I joined the EVE community, and why I have stayed as long as I have Big smile Very few MMO's I have played over the years afford their players such close contact with the very people who created and continue to nurture those games.

You can avoid becoming an ******* by remembering that developers are real people with a job to do. Most of them love their job so much that they are willing to spend personal time to interact with the players or to simply do more than their job requires. As most people who have a job will tell you, when you have to deal with assholes every moment of your work day you immediately lose interest in doing anything extra and eventually you don’t want to even continue getting paid to do the job.

I loooove interacting with the players because I think it's super fun to have a bunch of space friends, but when people are mean to me (sometimes for no obvious reason) it makes me really really sad. Just imagine saying those mean things to the dev's face and imagine how much it would hurt! Well to me the forum posts are sometimes the same.

But 99,99999% of all the interaction I have with players are really pleasant and I try to take all positive feedback and do what I can do with it (as can be seen by some of my dev blogs and some of my posts in the test server feedback forums)

The only thing I see missing is an understanding of a company-customer relationship. Everyone wants puppies and cuddles, but when you pay for something you have expectation(s) of delivery. I still find it hard to believe that company's still don't get the huge cost incurred when they disappoint a customer - the direct cost of a customer walking away and even worse the bad will that spreads like a virus in today's web connected world.
