rattler the new mach?

so, according to F&I posts, drone damage augmentors are getting buffed, as well as cruises and torps. do you think the buff will be sufficient to pull the rattlesnake ahead of the mach as one-size-fits-all mission boat? i was thinking a 4 or 5 slot shiny active tank with the rest of the ship filled with damage mods.

I should buy an Ishtar.

It's still slow as molassis in January.

Do NOT blaspheme the name of the Holy Mach.. Just reading this post made me feel unclean.

Say 45 Hail Machariels and your sin will be forgiven.

But yea, 'Snakes (and Gila) pilots will love more drone power.

What about the npc getting near sleeper like AI and attacking our drones?

It seems like we are getting more drone dps, but we also getting higher chance of loosing the drones.

Just pay attention to them more, most of the Rattlesnake's DPS comes from sentry drones anyways.

I was planning on getting one for running Anoms in null sec, so this makes me a happy camper Twisted

I very much doubt the Rattler is going to match the Mach's ability to get in, blow everything up, and get out. You're still looking at an immobile ship that has to use support mods to apply a fraction of its damage. Simply raising the amount of damage it puts out won't solve that. It will get better with the changes (as will the already very nice NDomi) but I don't think it will nearly unthrone the Mach.

Until the day the Mach gets its comeuppance....

How are CM's getting buffed? The TE changes aren't coming in the winter expansion last I checked.

Talks about the heavy missile changes. Only things that affect the rattler here are the changes to fury's/precisions for cruise, and javelins/rage for torps, plus changing missile acceleration to be a bit faster, and torps/hams/rockets being affected by guided missile precision/rigor rigs/etc.

Destroyer changes, but at the bottom they talk about buffing drone damage augmentors - t2 go from 19% to 23% damage bonus, and reduce CPU from 32 to 30.

Lastly, somewhere around here there was talk about NPC rebalancing, but I forgot which thread that was in. It was a dev post in either the FW NPC balance thread, or the (now locked) thread in missions and complexes about NPC combat AI to be upgraded, which talked about how the NPC's are going to handle aggro mechanics after they change it.

Still wont beat the mach. If rattler had infinite slots layout then it would with the new upcoming mods.

But last time I checked it doesent have infinite slots so ... mach mach and mach once more.

My mission char almost exculsively uses a rattler nowadays. With a more than sufficient active tank, 2 omni links, 2 drone range mods and 4 damage augmenters I currently get over 800dps from sentry drones with perfect skills.

For me personally this is the *best* way to run my mission as I'm usualy pvping on another client and need something with minimal input, but for pure blitzing the mach is currently king and the buffing of drone amps won't really change that tbh.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
