That's a new one. Usually, it's other people who are supposedly my alts.

I thought everyone in EVE was Chribba's alts?

You don't trust other EVE Players (or alts...)
the CSM are EVE Players

Therefore, don't trust the CSM.

works fine for me, and I'll still vote for the one who most solidly shares my views. Or at least says they do at the time of the elections...

edit --> as with other eve players, I just expect them to stab me in the back at some point.

How can you be trusted to do your CSM Job? If you are scamming people.
Look at this way..

If you scam someone ingame, you are the looked upon as an untrustworthy person. They will see you personally as a person not to be trusted. Correct? So how can you expect people to trust you anymore whether its in or out of game. Your reputation to that person you scammed is ruined. They cant trust you and never will.

If your government pillaged your home, killed all your family, took all your goods and lifes work, would you then trust them to run the country? I think not

I take issue with that illustration.

People will AUTOMATICALLY trust him, I think the question has been asked, but no ones give an answer,

You are basically saying - the csm cannot be trusted.... i think thats all we need to know... perhaps this thread can be locked now...

nail - coffin.....

I'm sorry, but you don't get to impose your arbitrary restrictions on the way I, or any other CSM, can play this game. I know that makes you want to cry and throw your toys around your room, but that is the way it is.

I am saying that any member of the CSM is just as likely to scam you as anyone else in EVE. That is the game. If you don't like it, the unsub button is right up there ^^.

Because the CSM have so far delivered on what the CSM is supposed to do.
Also, because there is zero indication that the CSM are scamming people.

No. They will see that character as someone who can't be trusted — they have no clue wither the person behind it or not can be, because they don't know him (or her).

In fact, I'd rather argue the opposite: the less you can trust their in-game characters, the more you can trust their out-of-game representation, because at least then you know that they are familiar enough with the game to pull that kind of scam, and that kind of knowledge is pretty a prerequisite for them to be a trusted with bringing the community's views in front of CCP.

Again, you still aren't getting it. As a leader of my corporation, I have invaded the home wormholes of people that voted for me, blew up all their POSes and ships, and stole the mods that dropped. This is just fine, and those people still talk to me about CSM stuff. What you need to learn to do is separate CSM duties from playing the game. We still get to play the game, any way we want to. If you don't like that, I don't give a ****.

No we're all basically scum. We've actually been compared to the Reich several times completely casually. You stay classy EVE-O.
Look, we all know you guys made faustian deals to get on the CSM and that the amount of baby-eating you did is directly proportional to the number of votes you got.

So really, the only question is: which works best, HP sauce or ketchup?

I prefer Heinz 57 Steak Sauce, myself...But then, I'm just a "pubbie," so what do I know.

No. Just… no.

Scamming in a game where scamming is allowed, and even actively encouraged, does not make the person playing that game as a scammer a scammer in real life. Rather, it makes that person knowledgeable about the game, its mechanics, and its rules, and rather makes him a good candidate to discuss the game with its designers.

Just because I capture the whole board in Monopoly does not mean I own any hotels in real life, or that I will screw you out of your every last penny, or that I prefer to stay in jail for as long as possible to avoid paying money to other people… Instead, me doing all those things in monopoly simply means that I know how to play the game.

Well sure — it needs to be quite deep to fit you inside, seeing as how you can't even answer these simple questions:

How is the CSM corrupt?
Where's the abuse?
How is it connected to their “positions of trust”?

This in an MMORPG.
The player is free to RP a character with moral defects that will do things in game the player would never consider IRL.

VaMei generally follows my RL ethics. He's never attacked anyone that did not start the fight, and has never taken a dishonet isk from anyone in his 6 years of Eve. Some of my other characters are not so... scrupulous, but their personality does not reflect what anyone would ever see from me IRL.
