No CCP just needs to nerf the Macks tank and let us take out the bot fleets again.

I would like to see a new ship introduced as a specialized jerkboat. Designed specifically for ganking macks and any other type of exhumer. Make the skill train semi punitive and specialized to discourage casual proliferation.

Topic cleaned up a bit; can I please remind people to post constructively and respectfully; regardless of whether you agree with the topic or not.

I saw a guy gank a Mackinaw yesterday with a Brutix solo. What's the problem?

They can't sustain that kind of ganking infinitely. The guy in the Brutix also might have seen a decent amount of wrecking shots.

Because blown up Mackinaws don't always drop enough to break even. Because 250m sig radius doesn't guarantee wrecking shots.

HAHAHA.

Your whiny miner tearful farewells when the Goons went after your POS this spring were the stuff of legend.
At least until the mods got through deleting 75% of the thread.

Reverse-attention whoring. That's pretty epic!!!

Let me know if you get any takers. I suspect there's a large group with some temporary disposable income who'd really like to shut me up, too. Twisted

We are here today to reaffirm our position of support for miners, the friendly and hard working pilots who are struggling to support the mineral needs of pilots all across New Eden. From the pilot just starting out mining in a procurer to the advanced miner using Mackinaws and Hulks. We are all one and the same. We are brothers.

For years our colleagues have been under constant attack by groups of vicious pod pilots. These animals have repeatedly condemned, belittled, and outright attacked miners. This assault on our way of life serves to make miners a victim and leads them down the path of helplessness if nothing is done. We must not let that happen.

To combat this, the mining barge researchers have finally changed our beloved mining vessels for the better. They are now tougher, bring in high yields, and can hold more ore in our holds. This is a good thing for all New Eden pilots who make mining their profession. Our ships will last longer out in the fields as we ply our trade. We can all agree this is a wonderful change that has been a long time coming.

Reading that last part may make you feel warm and secure in your newly improved vessels. Don't fall into that trap.

Miners are now under attack in the form of our yields. Yes, the very thing our industry has streamlined to bring more work to our profession and make it more profitable, all while making our minerals cheaper for the common pod pilot, is under attack. We must not stand for this new smear campaign my brothers. They are the enemy. They are trying to weaken us. They are saying we produce too much. I say we don't produce enough. Miners everywhere, Unite!

Wait wha... should we aim for the chance to sit thight and mine in safety?
Nah.
Either you aim for yield, survival or cargo, dont combine it all into one ship.

The larger the cons/pros on the ship, the better its suited for different things.
Reduce the hp and yield on the retrievers, buff the cargo.
Buff the survival of Procuerer but reduce yield and cargo.
Buff Covetor yield, but reduce cargo and survival.

Keep them at a huge difference in different areas.
This way the strong will shine, and the bad will fall.

One way trip! Why dont you drive?

Seriously guys, let it go... the changes are in, and CCP should move on to other areas... my opinion.

a good alternative:
1. kill a lot of rats, any way you want.
2. seize the loot and salvage the wrecks.
3. reprocess.
4. ???? (just for the lols)
5. profit!

if more people do this instead of just ignoring all those modules and charges dropped by rats, I'm quite sure mineral prices would go WAY down.

AFK-mining, whilst definitely not the best of gameplay by any means, is not botting.

It's boring and likely bad for the game. But, unlike botting, which is a player's fault this is wholly CCP's fault for simply creating boring gameplay.

The distinction is important. The first is solved by punishing the players, the second is solved by revamping the gameplay.

CCP expect players to be ATK during PVE. I think Sreegs made that pretty clear.

And what relevance does CCP's expectations have?

The actual game itself, not CCP's expectations, determines player behaviour.

I think there have been more than enough instances already where CCP's expectations turned out to be way off.

I think you misunderstand me.

Sreegs indicated that it isn't CCP's intent for people to engage in PVE while AFK. The implication is that this is always "not working as intended" and therefore an "exploit."

Considering there's no way to enforce making AFK an exploit that implication is quite meaningless.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that making decent profit whilst AFK and free from most risk is totally fine and good for the game. It's not. But the fault lies with CCP for mining being designed as it is, not with the miners themselves.

That I can agree upon. Unfortunately, either way, it is the miners who will suffer. Be it at the hands of players or at the hands of the natural consequences of the apex rock predators CCP has introduced to the game environment.
