I'm in full support of replacing coffee makers with a bottle of vodka. Also, they'll need to replace the water cooler with a keg of beer. Drunk Devs = fun Devs, fun Devs = awesome EVE!

I care. +1 to OP.

As an immigrant to America, I completely agree.

When faced with who should host the soccer coaches that are coming over from England/Ireland/Scotlan/Wales, I was by far the first to warm to the idea of putting up a stranger from a far away land.

I've been that kid with nothing more than a duffle bag and good intentions in a foreign land. It was hard, but worth the initial poverty to end up where I am now (well not literally, they have toilets back in England, I remember those!).

I'll invest in those that follow my footsteps.

Can't see why anyone else would. It's like giving a Dog a book to read. Unless it can read, it'll never know what the point of the gift was.

And back to the beer and cookies. I support you feeding the devs :-)

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

I have been conducting research on how the poor give more of their discretionary income to charity than the rich do.

The hypothesis goes that those that have done it hard are more likely to be empathetic to others doing it hard and do what they can to alleviate that hurt.

It's also well known that the rich and comfortable tend to be more harsh, less forgiving and have less empathy simply because they do not understand how the "others" live.

Yes, it's a generalisation and there are, of course, exceptions to the rule but I think you, the reader, understand the tone.

On this premise I make the following assertation.

Eve's universe is meant to be a cold, harsh and dark place, and judging by the clips I see on Youtube, it's the absolute antithesis of the environment the devs worked under. They're warm and friendly and it would appear that their work lives are made up of nice things.

There is without question, a correlation in the creation of the complete opposite of the universe they live in to the universe they create.

The softness, the pleasing and delightful atmosphere Eve was created under, provided the impetus for a cold stark and unrepenting Eve. A beautiful thing.

BUT WAIT!!!

CCP got all serious. They went from reckless coders with a dream to an actual, accountant-operated business. They became, to some extent perhaps, the opposite of what they wanted to be. With economic pressures, shareholder backlash, some poor media coverage, CCP and it's employees have been doing it hard.

And voila, in direct proportion to the research mentioned before, Eve started trending to a softness with a blunted edge.

Cold has become chilly, dark has become twilight and harsh has become difficult. HTFU has become Please HTFU. Eve's harshness is being nullified, mollified and mediocritized.

What can we do?

Make CCP HQ a BETTER place to be again and the devs will bring Eve back on track to the cold, harsh universe it should be.

We need to do what we can to help CCP STFU

Some ideas...
1) Provide the devs with more beer, vodka, loose women (or men?) and cookies.
2) Helmar needs to get a pay cut - and a better haircut.
3) Senior management are demoted to tea-ladies and made to walk on their hands while carrying the tea.
4) Turn the air-conditioning up a notch, get the staff wearing swimming trunks and hoola skirts.
5) Let the graphics department use PC's if they want. Mac's are not neccessary to draw pictures!

Eve NEEDS YOUR HELP. Put your idea below to make CCP STFU.

(I will draft a report based on your recommendations, titled "STFU CCP!" to the CCP CEO by COB, Friday with CC to senior management and shareholders.)

PLEASE HELP. Save YOUR Eve.

Err, cough. S = Soften.... (before someone else says it)

You have a letter F in some of your acronyms like HTFU and STFU.... The ISDs are coming for you.

Ingredients:
1 – 473 mL (16 oz) Dark Beer
¼ cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
¼ cup Maple Syrup

Directions:
Using a heavy bottom sauce pan, over med-high heat, bring beer and brown sugar to a boil while stirring regularly. Turn heat to med-low and allow beer to reduce until mixture thickens to a syrupy consistency, about 35 minutes.
Remove from heat and mount sauce with cold butter until all the butter melts, then Add your syrup...

Oh I ******* mastered it Goliath...
