Agreed.

Some poor noob is is trying to help other poor noobs by clarifying that some RvB members misrepresent what RvB is about and then a parade of butt hurt RvB members, their apologists and the usual forum asshats jump all over the guy.

Kind of sad to see, really.

My stepdad did that to me. Wasn't so bad, and I did learn how to treddle water in a few moments at least. Pretty sure I already had that knowledge instinctively, but whatever.

If you want classes, I think Agony Unleashed offers them.

Did he also teach you how to swallow and not use teeth aswel?

If you don't want to fight people why would you join a corporation the sole purpose of which is to be engaged in perpetual war?

You're a moron, OP and you make newbies look bad.

it appears you are trying to flame one of the most beloved instituitions in eve. clearly you also do not understand how bad the eve forums are. specifically if you are angry and ********.
you should bio-mass your character and go play WoW or something equally bad now.

I'm down about a billion isk in ships where I loan out drakes and maelstroms because I hate flying them but feel compelled to have at least one of each doctrine ship laying around and promptly forgetting who I loaned them too.

To be fair I've borrowed a dictor who I promptly forgot who gave it to me also. It happens in the heat of fleet form ups. I think of them as gifts :v:

You know, I think this is the first time I've been glad to see someone unsub. Most of the time I just give a hearty "Meh" to the whiney entitled misinformed turdburgers on these forums.

Hell, I don't even understand why he was mad at RvB lol. It's not like RvB was the one who misled him. He should have been mad at the person that referred him there and at himself for not doing his due diligence about the organization he was about to join..

Obligatory "Can I haz ur stuf?", "HTFU", "Don't let the door hit you on the way out", and any other meme you like.

I agree, reading is apparently hard.

1) I plainly stated that a member recommended me after knowing that I wanted a training corp.
2) I have been playing for ONE-F**KING-WEEK....I have no F**king idea how to set up overviews. I'm still trying to understand damage types and the pros and cons of missiles.

1) Why not read about us instead of just Leroying in? And yes we have Noobfleet which can teach you stuff, but we are not a teaching organization.
2) EVE University, a teaching organization, has a massive Wiki, read it for everything you could ever want to know. On top of that, the RVB forum has 3 threads entirely focused on different parts of the overview.

http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Main_Page

As far as the pros and cons of missiles, in my personal opinion the cons are many, and the pros are that you can pop something that made it into a POS shield since they don't stop missiles.

Good luck in your future endeavors, but based on your reactions here EVE Online is not the game for you.

Clearly op isn't interested in actually learning how to play the game, he just wants to get his hand held and have others tell him how to play the game while getting handouts from Vets.

WoW is that way ---------->

This idiot OP might be engaging in the best advertising RVB has had in ages. If it weren't painfully obvious otherwise, one might be tempted to believe he's an RVB Director alt in disguise. Is that you, Combat Mink? Blink

1) Please show where I asked to have my hand held....because I can direct you to my Recruitment post where I specifically said the opposite.

2) please show where I asked the vets for anything.

3) WTF are you talking about dude?

Despite your protesting KillerPriest.

You did learn something today.

You learned lesson number one about EvE. Don't fly what you cannot afford to lose.

You also learned that you will lose ships, and pods. These are expendable, like ammunition.

The best thing you can do right now is to re-join RvB and get back into it. I'm sure they have a ship reimbursement policy.

Also if you ask other people for help, they might just help you. ;)

oh I could afford to lose it. I was familiar with that rule. I got it for missioning.

Losing shps was expected.

I don't want to join them, because I don't feel like being ganked because of some random wardec I didn't know about (apparently I was podded by a 3rd party).

I'm sure their way suits some, just not me. Again, not trashing them, I just personally don't see how being randomly podded teaches you PvP.

Then perhaps you should discuss it with the 3rd party war target that podded you. No one in RvB did.

Next time actually read the information given to you. Pay particular attention to the parts that:

1: Advise you to move your ships into place before joining, as you will be at war.
2: Advise you to watch out for outsiders that have declared war on RvB periodically.
3: Give you an overview to download, or guide you on how to set it up on your own.
4: Inform you about noobfleet, what it entails, and how to get some freebies.
5: Advises you who to contact if you need ships moved into the war zone after you have joined, or to use a hauler alt.
6: Tells you how to find pre fit dirt cheap ships on contract to members.

Had you taken a few minutes to read the information linked in their open channel marked "Read this before you join" or at least bothered to read the welcome EVEmail sent to you when you did join, you wouldn't be in here complaining right now.

Then again, maybe you would be.

By the way, they always post any outside parties that have declared war on them in the MOTD at the top of their chat channels.

As a member of RvB you should expect to lose dozens, or more likely hundreds of ships if you stay a member for any length of time. If one ship getting blown up disturbs you, you're not going to stick around long enough to learn anything.

It is training, if you know how to pay attention to what you are told. I never had a problem with them at all, the people were helpful and offered advice when asked, there was always something going on, and I had a lot of fun with them. If you think training is limited to a boot camp atmosphere, then no, they don't do that. Instead they get you in the game, and help you learn by trial and error, learning from your own mistakes while giving tips when asked questions.

I have nothing but respect for those guys, and while I am sorry YOUR experience was unpleasant, that is the exception, not the rule.
A reward devoid of risk is no reward at all, but is instead a handout.
