The point is that when things change, they are supposed to impact all players, and should change for a good reason.

This change is targeted at drone users and low/null sec plexers. If the low / null sec plexers were going to get hammered equally as much as high sec, I could almost live with the change. But read the dev blog (40 plus pages now) and read the dev's comments. Things are being altered to save the null sec income. Only the solo high sec mission runners, which most new players use as a major source of income, are going to be seriously affected by this attack.

Seems changes are being applied across the board according to the dev blog.

Other than that, all the NPC in the belts, missions, complex, navies, pirate faction, empire faction, and any others I can find will get the newer Level One AI.

In fact it seems really only sleepers and incursions (which currently have Level One AI) aren't being touched. And CONCORD which has a different AI.

We will not be touching Concord, the current sleepers, or the current incursion NPC.

So what is wrong with the attempt to balance out the income between both Null Sec and Hi-Sec? They even said it will be rolled out in small steps to see how the changes affect people. Also in low / null sec you run the risk of getting scanned down caught and killed as where in hi-sec that's far less likely (assuming no war dec) to happen. Isn't the saying "the lower the sec status the better the rewards"?

CCP Fox Four even tells you why it's happening. Just because of these changes it doesn't mean that others have to stop training drones just means you just need to be more aware of what is going on with them and do a little more micro-management with them.

I know i shouldn't feed the troll.

but there are some things that need to be pointed out here.

1) this change is not a 'targetted attack' as mr pirannha has claimed, it is simply there to remove the very stale and static mess that missions have become and make AFK missioning less viable.

2) Any method of playing EvE while you are not at your keyboard is technically a breach of the ToS. 'AFK missioning' is basically botting without external programs.

3) if you are at your keyboard, missioning properly, and using the correct drones for the correct situation, this change will have very little effect.

4) Fleet missioning will be changed slightly by this AI implementation, as you will no longer simply 'send in the tengu' and wait until it has all the rats aggroing it before warping anyone else in.

with the above points stated i'll summarise. Unlike the claims made by mr pirannha, missions will be made more interesting, less scripted and more fun by this change.
Fit the right tank to every ship that is going in and watch for drone aggro.

Droneboats will still be valid for missions. if you know how and when to use each drone class.

Wouldn't say everybody; but everybody is also entitled to his/her opinion.

Hey ISD people, is the place where new players read really appropriate to have Dinsdale posting his stupid tirades and conspiracy theories? An impressionable newbie might read them without dismissing them immediately like anyone with actual in-game experience does (which is why he's doing this). I can't imagine this being good for this forum's goal of helping new players.

It's an opinion, so if you believe his opinion is wrong then state your own help teach as others have done. Since trial accounts have the right to ask questions and as they can't post in other sections only seems fair to let them voice questions or concerns they have here.

Would it make a difference if I moved the thread to GD where new players who are still on the trial can still view it but can't ask questions about upcoming changes or other questions they have about this topic? I would rather answer their questions then not letting them ask them at all. But that's just me.

Well all right then, new people ignore the cries of AFK players, if you like drones train them, learn the proper way to play at your key board, keep an eye on your drones and you will be fine. The only people this chnage will hurt are people like Dinsdale, and he does not really play the game, he parks his drone ship and goes afk, that is why he is crying so much, he can no longer have the game play itself.

I'm a nerd, you can check my stats!! Skilling Int/Mem at 45 sp per minute is how I mack!     I'm like a lapdog, all bark no bite.
