Hi @ll!

A friend and me want to join RvB for some pvp fun.
However, given the restrictions given by RvB (no EW), we are unsure about the optimal frigate composition.
Originally my friend is Amarr while I'm Caldari. However, we would be ready to crosstrain basically anything.

Do you know of an optimal frigate (standard ones only) setup suited for 2-man-PVP?

Thanks!

Autocannon Rifters are always fun to fly. If you fly Amarr, a pulse-laser fitted Punisher is a good choice.

First, join RvB. Don't think about it. Then..
Join the very helpful and noob friendly RvB forums.

But really, just join us and get stuck in. We're a helpful bunch. You'l get more info in 5 mins on corp chat than the Eve forums.

There are lots of thing I could suggest ship wise but 'rock, scissors, paper.....'

Come on, have a go.

Get something with really long range locking so you can properly whore on killmails. Guns don't really matter since you're just going to be whoring.

2 thrashers

One to kill the fregate with your main, the second thrasher with a -10 NPC alt toon to get the pod.

Any two frigates will work , just make sure you are both capable of doing same-ish speeds and have the similar range. unless you want 1 to point and the other uses alpha , but that becomes more prone to problems .

What you can do is if one holds points (web/scram) the other can bring tracking disruptors , this gives you a bit more leeway in what you attack, but will stop you from hold down two targets.

Oh and read you Welcome to RvB eve-mail there is some information in there for people new to pvp .

Tormentor is a lot of fun as frigate for ammar , or a crucifier loaded out with tracking disruptors

This.

RvB was cool when it was first about.

Its just about as blobby as cfc now, fit for whorage.

I'd be a liar if I didn't say RvB was at times blobby. However, we do have a dedicated FFA system where there are 1v1 frigate scraps going on all the time. I was in there a few days ago with a Tormentor and got a couple of really nice 1 on 1 fights out of it.

To the OP: Try out as many frigates as you can, to be honest. I really like the Tormentor as a solo ship. However, I am heavily biased to Amarr ships. For other races, I've seen the revamped Atron do some great things, and the Merlin and Incursus are great in brawler setups. Slasher is also a nice little boat and the Rifter is also still effective, despite what some may say about it now.

Amarr - gat punisher with a nuet. (I fly this. My rvb char haven't lost a 1v1 I fit it with a buffer tank ab and a web.
caldari- long point condor with LM (mwd long disrupter and some LM are lethal.

Great combo can eat slot of frigs if flown by good pilots.

Overly simplified, dismissive, cynical. Yup, I'm still playing Eve.

Did you know that everyone has a default level of happiness and that they revert back to that default after a certain period of time following ups and downs? Some people are simply unhappy people and even if they are temporarily happy will default to their miserable selves after a short period of time.

RvB is still a lot of fun. Even if some people aren't able to enjoy themselves for long under any circumstance.

Condors.

1 pilot in a kiting condor, the other in a kiting condor.

Nothing else.

Why am I NOT surprised to see VOC, Pinky and Wolfs Brigade shoveling vast quantities of bullshit and tears into this thread? If you don't like RVB, don't join, but whining because we blob, wh0re on mails or we don't teach you "all about actually good pvp", whatever the **** that is, makes you sound like dumb, butthurt children. Especially when each of you is guilty of the same thing you're crying about.

PS: Join RVB. We good.

Executioner and condor. Fit one as close range, web, scram, point. The other fit as faster long range tackle, warp disrupt, sensor boost. Fast lock grabs initial point and stays at range using missiles or beams. Short range make a little more tanky to get in, hold point, and kill with pulse or rockets.

I would use condor as range to allow for a tracking disrupt in the 4th mid (so prop mod, long point, sensor boost, tracking disrupt).
