OP: faction warfare is worth it, as long as you place a lot of value on "worth" but aren't all that interested in the "faction" and "warfare" aspects of the feature.

Is your job on the line here? No, really.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Finding an "active" FW corp is a pain, they are few and far between.

When you join, you will discover that Plexing (ie. making ISK), is a SOLO activity.

Corpmates do not want to share plexes, and their LP/ISK.

So unless there is a roam, which like hi sec pvp are few and far between, you will be grinding Plexes solo.

Good luck.

Cheers, i've been thinking about joining the Gallente milita (a corp thats a member of it ofc.) but i know that i need a +1 standing in order to do so.
my standing is half-bad (-2) so any ideas how to grind it up in a hurry?

Pirate Faction Cruiser and spam level 3 in Gallente space.

If you are at OR under -2 you will be limited to level 1 until you are over -2.

Then go grind over -2 with minmatar missions.

Only work with storyline tho. So Have fun!!!!

(PS: I came back from -6 with Amarr to -2 with Caldari missions lvl 3. Blitz it with friends its way easier)

And here I thought FW was the path to realizing my dreams as a hot shot capsuleer serving the Gallente Federation, when it seems FW is just another shallow isk farming mechanism devoid of any grand scifi adventure "meaning".

Damn, only a month in and I'm already feeling bitter.Ugh

or you could just stop listening to all the people who have heard about FW farming on the forums and join FW for the fun small gang pvp.

There are currently two types of people and likewise corporations in FW. The farmers, they don't have much to do with everyone else except begging them for a cashout push every day, they generally don't intend to use weapons and their corporations are more of a farming thinktank than "real" corps.

And then there are the other guys, who have been in FW for ages, who don't care about PLEXes and all that farming and just have awesome small-scale pvp as they always had.

Join MInmatar if you want ISK, join any of the others if you actually want to PvP

You sound so bitter, don't be mad cause you lost (and lost bad.). Minmatar do plenty of PvP, and are also now the worst place for isk. There are all of 3 or 4 systems for minmatar to plex. The market has so many firetails, SFIs, and Tempest FI there will be plenty of supply for years to come. Gal militia is probably the best place to make isk.

Depends on what you want to do. FW is basically made up of a few individual groups.

1. The AFK farmers.

They're always around, but not as common as you think. They're just annoying for us PvPers. It's like if you were out hunting, got yourself a good perch, and a deer walks up and stands in front of you at point blank range. Where's the fun in it? If this is what you want to do for money, then sure, it's great.

2. The lone wolf.

These guys aren't amazingly common, but there's enough of us on either side that on a good night you can get a fight every 20-30 minutes or so. On slow nights it can be an hour or two between targets. On the slow nights you will come to hate the AFK farmers. You usually see these guys flying assault frigs, faction ships, or occassionally a stabber fleet issue or a cynabal. Most of them are cautious, but if you show em a good fight they'll generally take it.

3. The soldier.

These guys are basically up for whatever. They're almost always in some corp, and tend to be more social than the lone wolf, but that doesn't stop them from running solo sometimes. They prefer to work in fleets though. They're a varied bunch, but they're mostly pretty cool and I've found myself drawn into the impromptu fleet with these guys, or occassionally pulled into a big op. If you're looking for small gang PvP, run with these guys. They're not uber master PvPers, but they know their ****. Fly with them and you'll get good fights and learn a thing or two.

4. The codependent. These guys are what happens when you mix the soldier with the AFK farmers. They're the source of most of the blob rage. They fly solo in assault frigs specifically designed to own 1v1, or faction ships that are brokenly good in 1v1. And even then they'll rarely take a 1v1 without having several battlecruisers and a few recons on standby. They tend to act like a lone wolf or an afk farmer when nobody is around, but they absolutely NEVER take any risks. They are boring, and will waste both your time and theirs trying to pad their killboards. If you see one roaming solo don't even bother.

For what it's worth, the lone wolves and the soldiers make FW extremely fun, but the codependents and the AFKs generally ruin it for people. If you learn who's who and get decent at target selection, you'll find that FW can be a very rewarding experience.

Just do us all a favor: FW pays ******** good, with income of like 200 mil an hour when you plex and cash out a tier 5. So for the sake of all of us who want good fights, GROW A PAIR. You fly FW for a month or so and you can afford to lose ships.

Thanks for the answers everybody!
(and sorry for necroing a bit, but haven't been capable of checking this for quite some time)

bit mixed views, but heck it sounds more like fun than grind, if you want to make it fun yourself.

but i never really got my questions answered on how to fix up Gallente standings quick in order to join their milita.

Cheers and good riddance!
