Ratting in a Super Tips

Posting from an alt for obvious reasons :)

I've recently purchased a super for the purpose of ratting. Up until now I've been using two carriers with sentries.

So it seems FB's are pointless for ratting, they don't seem to do much. Fighters seem pretty good. But I'm only making about half per tick of what I was making with 2 carriers.

I can't seem to kill frigs, or at least there is always one that wont die, so I've moved to forsaken hubs where there are no frigs, but even in these in a carrier I did well. I have two target painters and two webs. I warp in at 50, align to POS and let the fighters rip up the rats But I'm inly getting about 25m ticks. Any suggestions?

I'm aware of the dangers, but looking for something more productive.

I suppose you are using 25 fighters. Are you using them all on a single rat? It's always effective to do it in groups of 15 and 10.

For the frig, its always the one which aggro's the fighters that wont die. See which fighter is aggressed by the frig adn recall it. once the transversal is down, other fighters will blap the frig.

You are not making as much isk as 2 carriers cuz, you have less dps, fighters need time to travel and they miss first shot every time. Sentries are always better than fighters. But I'd assume you dont plan to sentry rig your nyx? :)

Ofcourse. Sentry rigs and drone damage amps, with omnis and 25 sentries, you'd be unstoppable. But you cant see yourself in the mirror for the next few days though.

Thanks for the other tips. I'll probably go back to two carriers. Although splitting fighters seems like a good idea.

Why spend that amount on a super when 2 carriers cost almost 10 times less and put out just a touch less DPS...

The warp times are awful..

Id bet a Mach can rat just as fast in truth?

1 bil loss Vs 20 bil loss..

I know what id choose.

1 carrier, eject 1 Mach. (or Varg, CNR, Tengu, etc.)

A Super is more of a prison than an asset imo. Dump that thing.

Personally I have the best ticks having used it all in a Vindi Shield tanked with five fighters.. 50 Mil plus per tick in forsaken hubs.. Upgrade ta 2 toons and you will still get 40 plus mil per tick on each toon. Carriers just take to long even sentry fits in comparison to a blapping vindi at 0

going from 2 carriers to a super is actually a downgrade.

stick with the carriers, or add a mach to the mix. keeping one mach and one carrier on grid + 2nd carrier doing boosts and asigning drones to the mach.

Yeah I can understand the draw to using something big and shiny, but you'll probably lose on efficiency.

Carrier + Carrier is probably your best bet, although I've heard that Carrier + Machariel w/ assigned fighters is the hands down best.

Also heard good things about Mach/Mach both with assigned fighters.
