Doing escalations in a WH quite often on alts, I find myself wondering what more can I do to progress with more efficiency and speed, all the while being safe. So I'm just curious how many subcaps/caps you guys believe is overkill for doing sites.

My personal preference is: (in order) (Designated in home WH)
(Offgrid booster)
Triage Carrier
4 BS: 3 NM/Mach + Navy Scorp for paints
1-3 Cruisers: Tengu (Since in home WH, If possible, switch to have a minimum of 1 tengu for more BS)
----Esc----
Dread1
=1 Tengu switches to Web Loki
----Esc----
Dread2
Dread3
Dread4
----Esc----
Carrier2

I don't think I would enjoy more subcaps than the above listed, as well as dreads.
(There is also a lot of multi-boxxing in play, so the ISK divisions isn't a problem as much as the hassle of warping in and controlling more toons/ locking them slower than you blap them.)

Your never going to be "safe" tho you can minimise/manage risk :P

Seems a bit of a messy way to go about it to me with the right setup and experience you should be able to do the escalation part by starting with one carrier, rapier/loki and a dread in one go (plus ganglinks) and then put the extra dreads in and finally the last carrier - any more than 3 dreads is probably overkill for C5 sites.

For target painting you should really be using a ship with a bonus to it (and consider running the electronic superiority ganglink to help counter the stacking of multiple target painters) i.e. rapier, golem, etc.

Apologies, forgot the loki. will edit. we use that too.

As for safe, I only mean in relativity. ofc.

tbh... I would stick to having the OGB at the POS, bring in 1 carrier, 1 web/paint loki, and 1 dread. Aside from that, I would put another dread/carrier on standby at the pos - only warp in when needed to trigger escalation (or if I'm feeling particularly brave/bored, bring in 2 dreads instead of just 1). Anything beyond that and its just a matter of putting more isk on the line without really providing much in the way of additional benefits. Of course, if you are splitting things up between corp-mates, etc. and everyone wants to feel involved, tell your mates to bring whatever they want - in the end, the pitiful amount of dps that they do compared to a properly setup moros isn't going to be particularly significant except against frigs/cruisers.

.offgrid booster.
escalation 1 and 2
archon (dont triage....its not worth it)
2 loki's
1 moros
escalation 3
all other dreads. since youre on your own 1 or 2 should be plenty.
escalation 4
carrier

warp the next batch of caps in at around 8 elite battleships left. that gives the new ones time to get into decent range for the dreads. the 1st dread will mostly dictate the speed at which the site is done. once the 2nd wave of dread(s) come in there is so much dps in the field everything will die instantly.

armor tank the noctis and start warping on last 2 battleships

ignore everything sub-BS or just throw out some drones on the last escalation. hobs for cruisers, fighters for the rest. though dreads, and especially the moros can hit cruisers just fine if the loki's do their job

Like Hathrul said, using BSs for DPS is a waste of time if you have dread pilots available.
Only reason to use them is if you want to spread wealth around amongst players who are not cap/loki capable.
