Having given up ganking an piracy etc etc in general. I came up on a situation today that I could have used a pvp ship capable of taking out 3 ships an surviving. (three player corpies hunting a WT decided to flag to me)... Anyway, I have been researching this afternoon, an so far I get conflicted views on Rokh's abilities at street fighting as it were.

(I know it's a damn good sniper)

What I was trying to do was fit one as a "payback" as it were for gankers if I ever get lazy enough to lose my macks. I chose a Rokh cos of its ability to fit a hell of an EHP, but I need it to dish it out in close qtr's too. I don't have T2 blasters yet, or T2 rails as I am mostly caldari an mim trained. So not really sure what way to go.
I could T2 fit a Phoon, but it doesn't have the survivability of a Rokh I don't think.

Today's targets were 2 Thorax, + a Cane + 2 Sac's (who came later when apparently they thought I was coming back with tornado :p)...

Now I grant you no way in hell I could take 5 v 1, but as it turned out the thorax/s an cane would have been doable.

So any advice from the 0.0 crowd on a decent Rokh build cos I am stumped.

not the 0.0 crowd, but t2 Blasters, barring that i suppose you could theoretically use autocannons, but those fits always make me die a little on the inside...

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

The sad thing is i'm not sure if i'm telling the truth.

yer, AC's are kinda lackluster in some ways...(no Alpha). But I guess if your not relying on the instant kills before Concord. a AC could work. an I am max trained in AC's.

If you want to solo around, then a phoon would be significantly better than a Rokh. Especially a T2-weapon phoon vs a T1 gun Rokh.

- utility slots
- huge drone bay (this matters a lot)
- considerably faster, and also smaller

If you get a Fleet Typhoon (They're surprisingly cheap) you needn't even give up much in the way of EHP either.

Really, the drone bay is the big advantage here, because your chance of being ECM'd is pretty high. The Rokh's dinky little 50mbit/50m^3 drone bay isn't really going to help much when this happens. The navphoon can deploy 5x Ogre IIs, and still have a flight of Warrior IIs for pesky interceptors, plus a set of medium ECM drones for that GTFO moment.

Hmm cheers guys, you gave me something to try, I have a nice Fleet phoon fit I'll fix up today an take her out. I just assumed the Rokh's ability to max out EHP like crazy would be her deciding factor.

5x 800mm repeating AC
3x Torp launcher II's

1 Warp scram
1x 100MN MWD
2 stasis webs

1x DCU
5x 1600mm plates
2x Gyro's

1x Large Ancillery Current router I
1x Large projectile Burst Aeator I

(Drones as per choice)

So have I gone wrong here anywhere?

That is going to be a slow phoon... so a long point is a good idea.

it has 800ms with MWD on... but I am having issues, I have a 1 min 40s Cap with this fit. Not good enough for pvp...I was considering buying a dead space web. but thats gonna push me up near 800 mil for a anti ganker... I also put a CCC rig in, but it had no effect.

I do have 118k hp though.

I love the ship but I will throw in the disclaimer that I have not flown it (Amarr / Caldari here, with Gal and Minnie getting there but not up to BS yet).

I spotted the two following fits at Battleclinic. It seems all of the fits are about 1.5 - 2min with MWD on, and cap stable with it off.

And finally, the second most popular fit (by votes anyway) had missiles and and Neuts. I'm not a big fan of that particular build (no guns), but its there at the site.

He flies mainly in smaller ships now with fleet ops, but the above is what my nephew flew when he was using BS class in his corp. He swears by it, so I threw it in here, but as I said above, its purely EFT warrioring for me on this particular ship. ;)

What in the....? Use a damn Maelstrom. You can't use T2 blasters so no Rokh. EHP isn't all that is necessary to take on 3 others, usually.

Mael is slow as hell. You're likely going to want dual webs to catch anything cruiser/BC sized...otherwise it'll just burn out of range. : /

yer I am learning, Battleship pvp isnt as easy as it is in my trusty Purifier. I'll buy a long point soon as I can. I have both mael an Fleet phoon fitted so when I get a chance at the muppets who try to flag miners in local, I'll bring em out an see what happens.
