Investing in AF's before the buff

So there's gonna be some AF rebalancing coming this winter, think it would be a decent idea to invest in some of the least popular AF's, especially the Retri. I don't mean the Ishkur, Wolf, Jag, Veng and others since those are already pretty good but the least popular ones. I mean it's not like CCP will make them worse and their price will decrease (already pretty low)?

I like the idea of trying to look ahead a bit and making some profit. Or at least pretending to do so and thus making some profit anyway.

Thinking about how something that was mentioned (AF buff but no details at all) to happen might influence the prices can be interesting and valuable. The op might be right with the thought and prices would go up. Or he might be completely wrong with the thought and prices might go down. Or nothing much will happen at all. But at least there is some thought and idea behind this speculation and not just some random "Oh look, let's try to make profit on that", isn't there?

Of course it could be also all an attempt to get others in buying and thus making them push the prices so that the op can profit (for example as inventor). The best way in doing that is by sounding reasonable, seeming to have some good ideas.

Or it is just hopping a bandwagon with no much thoughts at all, just repeating what others said.

So many possibilities! And only when the changes are live and there for a while we will know what the right course of action would had been.

This shows just one more aspect why the market in EVE is so interesting: Because of all the players, because of you!

Obvious manipulation attempt.

But really, while most of us probably recognize that this is geared toward introducing newer players to the speculation aspect of marketing in EVE, the tone feels kind of patronizing. I understand that this may be due to English not being your first/primary language.

Actually I have not bought any AF's yet nor am I trying to manipulate the market nor am I completely new to speculation. I was just suggesting that if CCP delivers like they're saying, and they actually improve AF's, the prices might rise and might be worth some investment. I've already invested in a few things (not AF's yet) and also know some people who've invested in various items

How some interpret your post:

I am currently sitting on a lot of assault frigates and would like the price to rise before I put them on the market. I'm going to try to convince you that I'm not serving my own interests by stating that I currently don't have any inventory, but that it's a good idea for YOU to stock up. Also, general consensus among my peers is that now is the time to invest!

It takes a lot to seem genuine here. (Your word doesn't count for much.)

Personally I don't think there is enough players that fly faction/t2 frigates (stealthbombers and most interceptors fill a different role) to make the prices swing big time, people love their BCs too much. Even if AFs take market shares from e.g. Dramiels I think think the market will be able to adjust fine to cover the increased demand.

That said it might be a price increase, but I think it probably is going to be because speculation/manipulation attempts.
