It says a lot that WoW's new update is "moar Pandas"

I'm seeing the ad campaign everywhere, otherwise I would've never noticed. I'm cringing. Pandas? Just straight up Pandas?

I haven't messed with WoW much but I can only imagine their demographic if they reached the conclusion that Pandas was the way to go. Imagine those board meetings.

"Gentleman, we need to strengthen our hold on the 9 - 13 year old, prepubescent , furry audience. I recommend Pandas."

All I can say is thank goodness we have EVE. Seriously. I don't ever want to see f*ckin Pandas in here.

I hate WoW based loosely on principles I only adhere to when backed in to a corner.. But being a Panda? I'm almost tempted.

It's not about 9-13 year olds, it's about woW East. After all, the last expansion was aimed at Wow West, and they lost 3 million subs globally. Developers are fed up with the West. Why cant they all be rich off of f2p and oriental themed games etc.. Blizzard pushing for billions of subs :P

well besides 9 new dungeons and 3 raids and new maps to quest on (same **** as other expansions) they did add three things.

they added farming (not grinding) actual farming... carrots and cabbage, why? for cooking recipes...
they added scenarios (its a 3 player dungeon with no healer/tank) in order to combat guild wars 2
they added pet battles (literally pokemon)

besides that, eve is still way better.

That does sound much better than just Pandas. But still - Pandas.

In other words they started officially copying lotro, rather than that OTHER fail game, EQ2.
I personally prefer collecting my freshly grown carrots from bloody wolf corpses in gw2 Straight
EVE needs space agriculture...

Gnomes are a classical fantasy race and often portayed as quirky and a bit silly. Pandas on the other hand are almost never seen in fantasy. When you do see them anywhere, they're portayed in as cute, chubby, cuddly and harmless, and they mostly appear in material intended for children. Even blizzard used them initially as a joke, so they have no one but themselves to blame, if their players now have trouble taking them seriously.

well apparently the panda came from the senior art director or something, some fat ass with a beard was nick named panda, so he drew pandas for fun and blizz made an april fools joke that pandaren would be the 5th race in warcraft 3... some people thought it was true and got mad when they said it was just a joke...so they added in a panda hero unit to warcraft 3... then they decided to make an expansion for wow... apparently pandas were supposed to be added in the first expansion but they added draenei instead.

i know too much of this crap, i'm disappointed wow keeps failing... the fantasy is cool but beyond that the game is just horrible trash.

edit: the kung fu panda **** is lame... blizz had pandaren as a joke race way before those movies came out.

It is kind of funny if WOW need to start copying other games to stay alive.

oh well, I never played wow, but games come and go. Just too bad it ruined most of the fantasy genre for gaming while it was in its prime.

I was tempted to reactivate my WoW account purely for the joy I'd find in KILLING PANDAS. But then I remembered I have very little time to log into a game and makes sure I spend 4 hours a day playing it so that I can replace purple gear with new green gear, then start the wonderful joy of re-running the same exact instance over and over and OVER AND OVER until I get all it's purps and phat lootz and wait for the next content update that will devalue everything I just achieved.

Nah, think I'll just resub to EVE so I can log in a couple times a week for an hour do something that I actually like in game and still progress.

I created Ave Molech and I love ponies.

LOL I clicked on the add the other day just to see what the fuss is all about, my girlfriend looked over at my computer and said "you are not going to start playing World of Warcraft are you?" haha, its even low for her standards.
