Another bit of reform I'd like to see. Real-life names are only released for those that win a seat. If you do not win a seat, you still retain your anonymity.
How about zero published RL names for anyone, period since it serves absolutely no purpose other than to help facilitate vigilante justice?
That would be preferable ... but since CCP seems pretty adamant about real-life names for reps, I opted to suggest a half-measure that is at least a step in the right direction.

So you can hedge your bets when you run? Since you obviously want to run, but don't really think you'll win, as you only offer a firm belief in your own worth.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I know I have certainly enjoyed the RL harassment and stalking from my attempt to make Eve a better game... it was really fun to have someone convo me in game, telling me about where I live and describe my cat in detail, then go on to explain why no matter what happens in game the goons will make me pay for my actions in Eve.... I slept really soundly than night...

Eve is real, more for some of us than I ever imagined.....

If you say so. I would need to see proof that this happened (but please don't, because I also don't really care.) The big question would be "Why?" You've had zero effect on a) the game, and b) the CSM. Why would anybody bother?

When you finally can explain why ANYONE does what they do in Eve then you will have made an amazing discovery. You actually prove my point, what an earth are you getting out of trashing me and the CSM 7?

You are just afflicted with space madness, a common side effect of playing this game.

I have the chat logs but what is the point in sharing with you, I know you still thinks pigs fly.....

You keep calling me out. Could you please cite an example of where I am NOT doing exactly what I promised to do if elected?

I suppose if you were elected to do the very bare minimum, then, yes, you are doing what you were elected to do quite admirably. Nobody does nothing with quite the same panache that you do.

If after I was elected I learned CCP had decided to ignore mining and industry for another couple of years my level of participation would be different. But I choose to live in reality so again, what are you expecting me to do?

Issler

To be honest Issler I would just ignore this fellow, he seems to have a hard-on for all but a couple of CSM reps whom he heaps praise after praise on.

I'd imagine some sort of undercurrent of shenannagans are afoot.

Since you can read the CSM forums and are present whenever they converse with CCP or each other, surely reading Issler's chat logs cant' present that much of a challenge?

I believe there are certain requirements that go along with that, such as attending meetings. Since the CSM meets informally on Skype, there are no "meetings" on which to objectively gauge attendance.

The scope of removing and penalizing members needs to be broadened.

This is depressing because it literally means you don't understand how representative democracy works.

CSM members are elected. They have a year to get what they want to get done, done and then to go back and convince people that they have succeeded and then they should be elected to return. Most other elections involve terms that are substantially longer than 1 year for a reason. The CSM is subject to annual review. Why do they need a more frequent than annual review?

This is depressing because you think CCP should remain completely hands-off and spend their money flying no-good jackasses out to Iceland.

The CSM is a semblance of a representative democracy, but it is not one.

Consider representative reform a version of representative recall.

Reading this, I was thinking some additional form of natural selection may be in order.

Perhaps if quarterly, CCP Xhagen ceremoniously intoned "You... are... the weakest CSM!" and threw the offender into a lava pool?

Or maybe CSM has to vote someone off the island?

Or a supermodel picks someone:

One day on CSM you are in, and the next you out.
CSM Issler you are safe, please leave the runway.
CSM Darius III that means you are out.

Something like that?

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.

What if all the CSMs are doing a reasonable job? Should Xhagen have to kick someone just because you like drama?

I think we should have a CSM version of America's next top model where every week Hilmar and a bunch of weirdo's (shouldn't be hard to find in Iceland) sit on a panel and get the CSM representatives to talk about ship balancing and high-sec representation whilst modelling the lastest fashions and being appraised by people you wouldn't let look after your kids.

We should then take sound-bites and the ones that are the least interesting should be made to take on Mittani in a nerdo geeky twig arm wresting match.

Just a thought...

Because MMO players are so insanely impatient that, even after over a decade of continual and consistent experience to the contrary, they still expect major changes to be designed, coded, implemented, tested, debugged, playtested, reviewed, updated, reimplimented and finally released in code-perfect condition to precisely suit their personal wishes within a timescale of a few weeks of their CCP WHY U NO BOOST CARCAL? post.

What fantasy world are you living in? Go back to WOW.

:P

PS - Just in case you still aren't quite getting it -- I was not serious about throwing the lowest performing CSM into a pool of lava every three months.
