We are a rowdy bunch.

EVE O Players have already instigated and supported 7 coup d'etats so far.

3 in South America
2 in Eastern Europe
1 in the Middle East
1 in Africa

We are pretty far behind the CIA but in our short time we have been effective in spreading our Capitalistic goals.

They are watching us for Tips not Terrorism.

Dunno about DHS but maybe for advertisement purposes. The other night I was talking with someone about employment opportunities in the mining sector. Rio Tinto and BHP Biliiton were mentioned a few times now my Yahoo home page is full of Rio Tinto ads looking to fill positions across Canada. What?

This may interest you dood, Rio are selling some Aus assets to expand with Alcan

Actually only if they feel the need to they subpoena the logs for a certain time frame. The actual truth is they have a program running that "reports" key words in conversations alerting authorities who then further monitor or even subpoena records. Sadly this is done without our or the chat host's knowledge or consent. They also scan message boards using the same program. Taking it a bit further certain words, phrases, and discussions get your user name/ID put on a list and red flagged for monitoring more closely.

Whether you believe it or not big brother is out there listening in and there is not a damned thing anyone can do about it. The future is here and welcome to the paranoia.

I dont know dude, I was helping help chat, and people hate googleing. Sure all they have to do is type in I hate bush, or Kill bush into google, for the FBI to spy on people. But seriously who uses google?

I think they would spy on eve, get russians, europes, other countries here. Be a big gold strike.

Hahaha! If only that rumor were true every single pilot in this game would be on the terror watch list, they even might have to create a new one just for us. A "Mass murderer warning" list? I mean,I'm sure many of us don't even count how many station and ship crews we've killed in missions and fleet actions anymore.

ccp only share our data with the Jovian directorate......... us government is not worthy of our info

also ain't USA as broke as EU now?

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

They might have programs going through heaps of useless chat logs. But I doubt many would take those logs seriously.

If they knew people who were suspicious and wanted to watch them. I'd think it much more likely that they'd look at the chat logs of those people in games and see who they talk to. I believe it'd be more focused. I don't think they'd necessarily ask CCP is they could look at the chat logs of everything said in game.

Most the time these agencies/organisations have pretty good hacking programs, and usually the laws, that allow them to use hacking to watch what suspicious people do on their computers. Not some random games logs. It wouldn't matter what game it was.

It'd be a waste of time, for most people, to worry about such a thing.

I think you people are crazy. Just take a loot at your own logs folder size. Now you tell me that they keep logs on all 500.000 accounts all the way back from 2003?

In Australia giving someone a death threat is enough to give our agencies permission to watch you and hack into your computer to watch what things you do online or see what you have on your computer.

You just have to give them a reason to do it, and they will.

They need to practice on someone. So when they actually need the skill they have it.

It's worth pointing out that while the company is Icelandic, the servers and user data are in the UK.

Intelligence agenies in most places can only request the logs/data under probable cause (ie they meet someone in game discussing terrorist tatics against real targets).

There is and shouldnt be any agreement for a periodic turn in. Only on a per request.

Even then they're going to use alot of filters in order to narrowdown the information they're looking for so chances of what sexting you done with your ingame girlfriend probably wont be popping up. Unless ingame girlfriend is underaged and they're actually a cop on the other side.

See something, say something.

Those "afk cloakers"...they're not afk--they're listening posts.

Personally, I upload my chat and combat logs to FTP.FBI.gov nightly. You're either with them or you're ag'in 'em. When they start kicking in doors, I want to make sure they know that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to prove I'm on their team. I'm that kind of weasel.

I heard the same rumors; supposedly they have a new employee called CCP Party Van responsible for collecting and sending data to be mined by NSA.
