A Mythological civilization once roamed an ancient world, it was a people of war and glory.
This people was known as the Norsemen and they are our ancestors, we are allready part of your world, most of us still hidden amongst the people of the stars. It has been prophesized that we shall once again rise as the powerfull people we once were.

This is my warning.
We are on the move, rising from the ashes, we come to challenge the known universe, we are here to dominate what you know as New Eden so we may once again rise to the gods halls of Valhal where the great warriors of our forgotten time reside as a result of their might and glory, we are the children of the norse gods long forgotten.

The warning has been given.
Let the time of change begin.

They are your ancestors. You are their decedents.

I don't know. I'm not worried, as I have never heard of these so-called 'Norse'. Perhaps they were a Minmatar tribe? If so they got wiped out long before the Amarr ever got there...

He's referring to Matari mythological stories....yet he is Caldari. And he is claiming to be a figure out of that mythology.

Is he Republican?

I notice that I am confused.

So, another new corporation spawns.
With yet another 'join us or die' message.

I don't see how that's possible. I'd think Kuvakei would be considered the craziest of the crazy. He pretty much makes Omir Sarikusa look like a saint.

I thought Omir was a saint? Or visionary. Or whatever term savages use to elevate their paragons.

I believe the term is "Screaming Nutjob" - at least that's how I was always raised to think of him.

I wonder if the Norse ever learned the wisdom of not drawing attention to themselves. Sure, I'll join you. Blink

Various archeological sites and sleeper databases regarding ancient history have some references to a nomadic seafaring race from many ages ago.

Unfortunately, all we have to go on in most cases, especially at points where a civilization makes a "jump" of sorts and in this case like coming to New Eden and leaving all that was old behind, are those little phrases and concepts that older races and cultures created in their time.

The term "Viking" for example has some reference to these Norsemen, but whether it's a noun or a verb is not clear. We have tht word in our vocabulary even now, and use it to describe, to some extent, activities more related to piracy. But if the Norsemen were pirates, I don't think they would have had much of an impact that anybody coming to New Eden thousands of years ago would remember them.

As far as Norsemen making a comeback, I think the gene pool is considerably diluted at this point. We might all be Norsemen.

Oh please. Another new corp arises, lead by their own messiah, following some old wornout mythology and some cooked up prophecy. All heart and passion, until they realise that the mundane reality will be weeks sitting on asteriod belts and chasing half hearted Serpentis squadies.
Then the big move to lowsec or null will come and after they loose their first couple of righteous forays the fun will go out of it all and they will slink home wondering what happened to "challenging the known universe" and how "dominating New Eden" seemed a lot easier at the rally.
Like children who have been naughty they will return to their old corps and friends, to ashamed to look them in the eyes because the ideals they ran off to follow fell in a heap.

And to those of you who thought this may be a Matari Myth, wash your mouths out. As one who was raised on the traditional Matari homelands and instructed in all the old ways I have never heard such a myth. Valhalla. Really. Your forgotten gods are laughing at you.

You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.
