Apparently this revelation came from State Department cables from Wikileaks.
Boston Herald Editorial

Is Obama officially the biggest pussi ever? He wants to damage the US by grovelling before Japan - and the Japanese tell him, effectively, to get lost and 'be a man'. Such an action, aside from not representing the average American, would cause problems both within Japan and is an embarrassment for any country in a position of leadership, such as the United States.

Leave it to our ally, the Japanese, to try to force our late-term abortion of a 'president' grow some balls.

My guess? The Japanese do NOT want a spineless whimp like B.O. backing them if China becomes aggressive. Roll

So it's OK to drop a weapon of mass destruction on a civilian population to test out its effectiveness? Bullshit. And before you say "lololol Nanjing massacre they're even now," no, they are not. Civilians should not have to pay for the actions of their emperor.

Also, the author of that article mentions that he has no clue what Obama means by the "colonialism of the Middle East." I think I do; one such obvious example is the 1953 overthrow of the Shah of Iran, who was democratically elected.

Perhaps no one would bother or vaporize them if they stopped making guns and bombs.

Just reading the first few lines of that pice of garb... I mean editorial column is enough to understand it's author isn't interested in the truth, but just in how he can present it under the most biased light he can.

Japan told him to man up not because he was apologizing for the US dropping 2 nukes but rather because that was not nearly as destructive as the conventional bombings were. The firestorms regular bombings created far outdid in damage what the 2 nuclear ones did. Where is the apology for those?

BTW I don't think any apology was necessary war is war and people die both soldiers and civilians such is the cost and way of things. Besides as was mentioned Japan started it we just used our best weapons to end it.

Good point, ask the citizens of Hamburg and Dresden about firestorms.

Personally, I think Obama get down on his knees and should publicly apologize to the directors of Krupp, I.G. Farben, and Siemens for killing the innocent civilians that worked in their industrial facilities. Corporations are (legally) people too. And those employees had families. Right, Headerman? P

Obama pretending he is not a tool of the Military industrial and banking complex, how nice.

The atomic bomb target cities were deliberately left untouched by conventional bombing in order to gauge the effectiveness of the a-bombs if/when they were dropped. The cities were getting a pass from being firebombed.

The target cities contained military targets.

The Allied and Axis leadership had already decided that bombing cities was permissible.

The emperor wasn't really in charge. Japan's military was essentially running the show.

It's war. *Everyone* pays a price, especially the civilians.
