WTB one humorous, but instructional video about forum posting from CCP.

I didn't realize people who played EVE were so goddamn sensitive that filters and unclear language rules exist.

Why isn't the "report post" flag an appropriate way to report incidents of poor moderation (or at least the reader's perception of poor moderation)? Even in locked threads, the "report post" flag is still active. And it seems substantially easier on the person reporting. Petitions are widely (*WIDELY*) believed to be ineffective black holes into which earnest players send their pleas and which CCP lackadaisically reviews ("Sorry, but it's Summertime and everyone is on vacation and oh gosh we couldn't foresee such a thing as a season...") or worse, outright discards with abandon.

Reporting posts here in the forums themselves is a very good practice and you should absolutely keep doing that. However, a petition is a two way conversation with an employee of CCP. We don't necessarily respond to reports we receive here on the forums (while we do of course investigate every reported post) but you will always receive a reply. We never discard a received petition, ever.

Sorry; by "discard" I meant "ignore until the robot automatically closes the petition after 14 days of inactivity." But this is perhaps not the appropriate thread to point out the tricks of CCP's petition crew.

So, we should all report posts from ISD when we believe the ISD action is unwarranted.

this thread sucks. The rules are there tell people to read it. there are much more interesting topics that I would like to see responded to by CCP. Not this...

Why did you, CCP, even waste time with this? I would rather you guys discuss the upcoming HML changes, the drake changes, or hell even have some fun in the other threads. To see you guys waste time with this thread will mean that others wanting to whine like a ***** (OP) will be glorified to know that you guys will respond.

Tell people like op in this thread to make a petition so his stupidity doesn't clog up the already-flooding-with-stupidity general
discussion forum.

To the OP: Biomass yourself and go whine on xbox live.

P.S: OP you spelled color wrong

Um, no he didn't. You're just used to using a bastardized American version of the English language.

CCP Gargant, do you copy pasta those responses straight out of the how to be an an arrogant, smug, condescending douche manual? I'm surprised you guys haven't banned that too & had it burned.
My life is colourful language, I thought the real 'offensive' stuff was taken care of with the 'filter'. So I'm not allowed to use colourful language here either?
I'm so sorry I made you 'sigh', it seems only fair though because I can guarantee I'm not the only visitor groaning audibly every time I read some indescribably average, over zealous reason for locking yet another thread.

tell you what, rate my avatar & give me a like will you, I feel a sudden desire to start a facebook account.

Harsher bans are needed so we can rid GD of alts that make awful posts such as this.

Okay, so "The Liberal Democrats are the most useless organisation in existence" gets deleted without a word, but this flagrant discussion of moderation is given dev encouragement? Huh...

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

Humm!

With the coming major change in Internet Law in the UK, where CCP's servers are based.
I can see why they are getting a bit touchy about 'Colourful Language'

Soon we will all have to be very civil and proper to each otherRoll

Insult someone enough and they will be able to force CCP to give them the posters real name & address. Without having to go through court.

OH! and the defence it is 'Only a Game' wont cut the mustard either as 'Online Video Games' will be covered by this law!Sad

A neighbour of mine used to be LibDem councillor and she's told me of their very high levels of uselessness a few times now, especially after she lost her seat.

Edit - and for anyone who fancies reading the Comment is Free section of The Guardian's website this is quite mild in comparison :D

This was happening last night and I went to bed.

I woke up, wandered off to work and it is still going on.

Awesomely mad!
